I have it "tied" in a the ballroom style.  There is no knot and is not supposed to be one.

Sir,

Where is your cravat knot?

The word "cravat" is a variant of the word "Croat" as the style seems to hav been invented in Croatia & is first mentioned in print in 1651.  There are several ways of wearing a cravat & not all of them involve a knot.

I would like to offer my humble, and not particularly Steamy self in my Wanderer frock coat.

I'll admit to getting the reference, that coat is very CDF!  I wouldn't mind finding one like it myself..

Thank you, good sir.  I designed it based on the painting and garments from that period to fill out the details.

So my boyfriend sells swords and for kc comicon he asked if I would be his booth babe I decided to give it a try.   I used a dress I got a few years ago and I had a big wrench but of course I could not find it when it came down to picture time.

Miss Stella, are those swords replicas or the real Mc.Coy?

Thirded on the boots, although as a booth-babe for a sword vendor, that would have been the apposite occasion for the polished-metal-combat-bikini.

Mercury and Luke they are some of the most comfortable fancy shoes I have.  The bottoms are a foam that is conforming to my foot nicely.

Thanks Miranda it was pretty fun but crazy busy.

Fairley B. Strange I get my hair stuck in car doors and my own purse I don't want to think of what armour would add,

Chain style armour is a hair grabber.  Even small, accent pieces seem to attract long hair and pull out chunks.

If you do decide to do armour, stick to leather or solid metal.  Your beautiful tresses need to be protected.

The lovely Lady Severine Sinful graciously agreed to model my latest corset, and it could've been made for her!

I didn't see one. (New thread that is). You see I like this, in a lot of the other pictures I've seen you in, had a lofty air. (Which is fine) But it's good to see the human side peaking through on occasion! Bravo!

No one else had posted to this thread in 120 days before you? That is odd. It seemed to me that the costume photo-sharing threads usually stayed active.

So, did a lot more people than just myself take a multi-month break?

As an aside, since I've been gone and returned I've noticed that no embedded video links are working and an alarming number of posted pictures and/or links are not visible (I'm not even seeing broken link type error messages as in the past). For example, I'm seeing none of Cpt. Vanderstorme's photos just above (as well as random others on this thread and elsewhere). So, is this a "thing" since the site went down recently, or is it just me?

THe whole cravat discussion got me thinking about the Cravat quote from Sir Percy in the Scarlett Pimpernel (1999).

Percy Blakeney: Sir my most abject and humble apologies, I completely drowned your cravat. How can I possible make amends for such clumsiness?

Chauvelin: It's of no consequents it's only a cravat.

Percy Blakeney: Only a cravat? Oh, my dear sir. A cravat is the apotheosis of all neckwear. A cravat desigeshes a man of refinement from the merely ordinary it sneers at the severity of the stock. It is the only item of dress the expresses true individuality. And whether is be made of lace or silk or the finest loom it thrives on ingenuity, on originality, and above all on personality down to the last skilled of twist of bow or knot
