It's sorry I am they're on Facebook-looking for another way to post 'em that's easy, reliable, and worry-free. I am THINKING about using Picasa, but I've heard they're about to take it offline...

Well, I've finally gone and done it. Outfit is complete and I will bare my face to the internet. For your amusement or disgust or polite ignoring: TVC15 in my "western" victorian outfit. (The rifle is a working 50 caliber, black powder rifle but the pistol is a non working replica.) and... and finally:

The angle makes it a bit tricky to tell. Is it percussion or flintlock?

How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

You would fit in here without a notice from anyone ... most gentlemen of your stature dress in such a fashion when attending an affair. On a side note, I've got the same rifle in 54 cal. and a short-pistol in 45 cal. (it works, but it's a bit sketchy). The rifle, on the other hand is quite accurate and will be getting a brass long scope once I find one. Mine is a 60's TC Hawken caplock.

Thank you sir. The rifle is a Thompson Center Arms 50 caliber. The last time I shot it, I mistakenly put close to 100 grains instead of the 'normal' 60. The bruise on my shoulder took weeks to heal.

Wow ... what a difference .04 makes! My normal load is 90 gr. ... it takes 115 to pop the cap. At 90, there is less kick than a 20 ga. much fun ... lots of smoke!

We were peddling our wares at a living history trade fair in Wisconsin this past weekend. Just to annoy people with sunday morning hangovers I brought my Jacobite outfit in 3 different tartans. The coat is inspired by one of the color plates from the Osprey Men at Arms book The Jacobite Rebellions

Yup that's the kilt, the red & black vest is sometimes called the "Rob Roy" tartan (supposedly from the period the MacGregor's were a proscribed clan) and someone told me the coat is the "Queen Anne" tartan, but it doesn't quite match with the pictures I've seen.

All you needed was some one else in those very narrow stripes you know the ones that seem to vibrate when you have a hang over...... I'm sure you'd have people running for the door.... Good work!
