I did end up renting the disc that contained both "Carry on Cleo" and "Carry on Jack", merely for the sport of it.

I remember watching this all the time when I was a kid at my grandmas, (if I’m not mistaken her family was from the UK).  I remember watching a few of the others too.  Carry on Policing and Carry on Spying.

Why they made a Carry On about landscape painters never ceases to amaze me.

Makes sense to me - With the Carry On films quest to display bigger and rounder boobs each film it was only a matter of time before they crossed the physiological/geological border.

Right that one.  I did mention it was easily more than a decade ago that I watched it right?  Is it a good thing or a bad thing that British comedy was a major influence on my childhood?

Love Carry on Cleo! Kenneth Williams as Caesar, Charles Hawtrey as the Seer, the lovely Joan Simms as Caesar's wife.

Caesar: "I brought you marbles from Greece!"

Seer: "She's got Greek marbles..."

"I brought you onions from Spain!"

"She's got Spanish onions..."

"I brought you precious stones from Gaul!"

"She's got Gaul stones!"

"Oooh! I never knew that!"

Priceless!  Grin

If you watch Joan Simms in that scene you'll see she's struggling to keep a straight face.  Wink

During the making of 'Khyber', in the scene where Lady Ruff-Diamond (Joan Sims) tries to seduce the Khasi (Kenneth Williams), Williams apparently broke wind very loudly. Sims was appalled and chastised Williams. He retorted that "Everyone farts, dear! Even Valentino farted!"
"Yes" said Sims.."but they were silent films!"  Grin

While we're on the subject, what about 'Carry On- Dont't Lose Your Head'- not quite Steampunk, and nearly not a carry on, but it's still one of my favorites!

PS: "Do you mind if I smoke?"

That's "Follow That Camel", "Don't Loose Your Head" is the Scarlet Pimpernel pastich; though your point still stands.

Love carry on Cleo, Kenneth Conner is hilarious, everytime he pretends to cut himself on a sword when he passes it to someone makes me laugh!!

Sorry to be a total girl but does anybody else think that a young Roy Castle looks like Richard Hammond from Top Gear??
