Just made a few minor adjustments and tweaks to the website. Managed to eliminate a few spelling mistakes. Popped in a couple of "positional statements" to ensure we are not accused of holding hard right political views but still used the Union Flag as a banner for the top of the pages. I am not much of a web wizard so it is about at the limit of my capabilities but should suffice for the moment particularly once we start getting photographs together.
Do you happen to have pics of me in my Foot and Mouth uniform at Kelmarsh Mr Inkermann?

Just got in to the gaiters. Need to try them out with my boots, but first impressions are that Lady Elsie was absolutely right and they are incredibly small on the calf. Buttons will need to be moved and I may even need to make a new leather strap. There is no way on this earth that they are for size 11 feet.
So. as I'm a size 9½-10, would you say go for the 11s over the 9s? PS: great website, I shall share it with the folk on the Whippit Inn 'Carry On' forum: http://www.thewhippitinn.com/newforum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=356&sid=c44fd380e9a50db6c0d28d55b0ec88ac

Absolutely and be prepared to move the buttons too. Thanks for the kind words regarding the website gentlemen. If anyone wishes to contribute to it feel free to email me text and pictures and I will incorporate your ideas.

Apologies for not doing it sooner, the pics I have in your 3rd uniform are here Tis indeed a pity that there is a girl in jeans in the background. Anyone have access to photoshop to shop the Major into a more fitting background? Oh and I got some vegtan from Kelmarsh at the weekend and won a snake buckle with extra fittings on eBay last night so I'm going to have a go at a set of Slade Wallace webbing. I'll need to source some white dye though. It is repro, but looks pretty good in the pic.

Mr Inkerman, you are concerned that an insufficient drop in your kilt will look funny. In the Third Foot and Mouth. Seriously? It is supposed to look funny.

I'm 6'2".
Have you measured yours? Is it a 24" drop? Whenever I've tried 24" drop kilts on in the past, they've been sitting on the top of my knees. Slioghtly too short for comfortable wearing in my opinion. I was told by a kiltmaker that I would need a 25"-25.5" drop, but then I do have fairly long legs for my height. Mr Inkerman, I measured my kilt when I took it off last night and it is indeed the standard 24"..I can only assume, as you say, that you are more than 50% legs!!

Drill tunic, day sporran and glengarry ordered.
I may have screwed up on the glengarry however. It seems that they (what price glory) only have the dark blue with no dicing around it. After reading back through the thread, it seems that the glengarry needs to have the dicing. This is a bit out of my league here. I'm not too familiar with military dress of this period. Does it necessarily need the dicing on it and does it need to be a specific colour. I am going for the black watch tartan if that makes a difference.
Just got my kilt, badges and hose to sort out now.
Are we going to be doing a group order for the shako badges or individual?

You have the correct Glengarry, don't worry. Be sure to get a Black Watch badge for it though.
I have bought my badges - they are waiting at the post office for collection. Anyone want to contact the chap and see if he'll do a discount on a batch?

Just had a quick chat with the guy from EG frames, he is at a show at the moment, but said that he would get his wife to give me a ring in the next couple of days regarding the badges.
He did say that if we order in quantity then a discount is not out of the question. His idea of quantity and mine may be a little out of sync though. I just need to get an idea of around about how many we will need.

I'm sure that you, Major Tinker, are aware of this..just discovered this on Wikipedia: The regimental tartans and bonnet badges designed for the Highland regiment in the film 1960 Tunes of Glory were reused by Pinewood's wardrobe department to kit out Carry On Up the Khyber's 3rd Foot and Mouth Regiment.Also..don't be surprised if we get a few requests to cater for Scout troops..

Yes I was aware of that but as I say in the kit guides financial realities have a bearing on what we are doing. We simply can't afford to commission kilts in a special tartan (unless someone has a spare £10k lying around) hence the suggestions of black watch and seaforths and indeed any predominantly green subdued tartan. As the the scouts and catering - well if they want they can feed us! I have enquired of this hotel about hosting a Khyber Dinner and as a base of operations for the spring parade. it now seems we have too many people to do it in a rented property. (We had another dozen people at Kelmarsh express an interest in attending and now the Carry On fans are also interested...) http://www.legacy-hotels.co.uk/legacy-royalvictoria/home.asp

I just didn't realise the CO-UTK kit was also used in another film.

Slight rewind to the earlier subject of a mascot.
It was put to me today, by a non-Steampunk I might add, that considering it's the 3rd Foot & Mouth perhaps the mascot should be a mad cow....
