Any couple that want to get married on Halloween are pretty damn awesome in my book!

Just in case anyone is interested I did enter the competition today. I managed to escape without being filmed or having my picture taken (phew). I lost, to a very sweet girl in the latest river island/topshop/urban outfitters trends. She got the backstage tickets (and a chance to work for clothes show live next year) but I still got free tickets which seems pretty damn good for 5 minutes of mild embarrassment! However I think it was unfair of the organizers to say that the competition was only open to over 18's and then not check anyone's age- I'd have won by default today if they had- because the other contestants were just 15 and 17 years old. The poor girl that won will probably get to the NEC in December and then find out she's not allowed to compete!

Oh well at least I think it proves that Birmingham as a whole is not ready for even my toned down version of steampunk. When they asked people to cheer, my outfit got complete silence =P I strangely feel that was something of an achievement.

I'm sorry to hear that, but huge props for your display of heart. I can't help but feel that was rather short sighted of them given that things like this keep popping up left right and centre at the moment.

They could have found themselves on the cutting edge of this "new style trend". Still, their loss ay. Wink

Yeah it is difficult to find green tight in anything other than bottle green- unless you are willing to fork out for them. I found these but they are a bit on the pricy side! I've never used the website myself- just stumbled across it recently.

For colored tights the only place to go is welovecolors.com. They have standard, fishnet, black striped or white striped in like 56 different colors in regular or plus size. In just regular size they also have wider fishnet and some other sizes, still in all the colors.

Oh I didn't know that was you.  I had a bunch of people ask if i saw you in that when I was wearing my gown with tentacles.  I bet that bright neon wouldnt get so washed out if I layered it with black tights over it.

The film is part of a project by local artists, currently called Power and Service. It will include film and other media. They are aimiing to show the film at next year's summer arts festival in Bournemouth (we stand to get free tickets to the showing and reception for helping out) and ir may well turn up in the Purbeck Film Festival and elsewhere.

Now you've done it Captain...I'm experiencing a sequence of horrified expressions that look something like this:

On a lighter note: Flightless Phoenix congrats for entering and for sticking to your guns! When fashion is universally adored it usually ceases to be fashion and is mere sycophantry. (I think I just made that word up). It must feel good that your BG audience was enthusiastically approving of your ensemble! I am envious of your top hat and would even venture to ask if you got it from a particular place with perhaps an online shop.

And ladies no more links to cute tights I beg you! Cheesy I am already going to poor enough this Christmas, without spending my spare dimes on Sock Dreams! Love their store.

Thank you Victoria =]

My top hat was a present from my mother about 5 years ago. She got it in an antique shop- in Camden I believe. It's french and collapsible. She will not tell me how much she paid for it... It's my prize possession but I don't wear it very often because I"m so scared of something happening to it.

In fact I'd love a 'cheap' top hat so that I could wear it every day- unfortunately I have quite a small head so I haven't found one anywhere.

Most of us have the opposite problem, we couldn't fit the antique ones even if we tried...dang evolution.  Great look and great hat.

The smaller your head the easier it is to buy vintage at very reasonable prices. I've seen vintage silk plush toppers go on EBay for as little as £15 simply because they were old and scruffy looking (cleaning them up is easy peasy) and around a size 6 which is pretty much child sized these days. That is rare however but still have a look, or give us your hat size and ideal budget, and I'm sure one of us EBay trawlers could turn up something suitable.
