I finally found a hairstyle that can support my striped hat without taking an hour to construct

I keep buying him black and red clothes but he keeps wearing the cream and linen. He is too sweet to wear black!

Cream and Linen isn't terribly formal though is it? Try that angle.

I was hoping to get him in the red and black waistcoat I got him for Christmas for the Brum meet on the weekend, but curse the weather! Apparently its too hot for dark clothes *roll eyes*

Well I do hope he's planning on seersucker then.

The world needs more crocheted hats.

Indeed  :)  One of my favourites, even if its kind of kooky.

This is most likely how I'm going to dress to my graduation ceremony. A bit iffy about the tie, it just came with the shirt, not the best, but the colours match well enough. Vest was bought for 8 dollars at a thrift store, my mom has to do a few minor alterations, which is why I'm holding it at the back. Overall I'm satisfied, though.

You're right to be iffy about the tie if you're going for a neo-victorian/steam look. It's a very modern tie. On the other hand, it makes a nice modern look. For NV/Steam, a plain black tie would match your pants and be nicely understated. The colour on your waistcoat is striking enough (and suits you), but if you want someting else that stands out, a gear pin on the waistcoat, or tie-bar would work.

Thank you  :) I made it ages ago but I had the devil of a job fixing on a hair do that would keep it on. A double plait knot seems to do the trick

Phania!
A fantastic photo affixed to the forum for friends' feedback and FUN!

Or, to put it simply, "Mmmmmm... Booooots." :D

Looking lovely and lovely to look at you again!

Welcome back. :)
Thanks, Gabriel. They're my favourite boots. I'm glad to be back.

Wow, Phania, you look gorgeous!
Thank-you :)

Thank-you, Captain. The loveliness of the picture is down to the settings on my unreliable camera. This is the first time it's sputtered into life long enough for me to fiddle around with them.

Fantastic photo Phania! I love the whole outfit.
And thank-you, garingling. Minus the sepia setting, the outfit is green. There's a little girl in my neighbourhood who thinks I live in Toad Hall  ;D

Could you point me in the way of the pattern you used?

In other news, there was a small steamy (literally and subculturally) outing to the local botanical garden.

Here are a couple of my favorite photos taken in the conservatory.

Nice photos Wilhelmina, that looks like a great location for some steampunky fun. I like the color scheme too. I love your skirt did you make it from a pattern?

Yes, I did make the skirt. It's the 1870s underskirt from Truly Victorian worn with the TV Bustle. It's part of my safari outfit I'm working on. Eventually there will be a bush style jacket and overskirt to go with it. I made the corselette also from some croc pleater.

Here is a link to the pattern.

Wilhelmina thanks for the link. I'm looking for some skirt patterns so I figured I would ask (especially since I see you often in the what are you sewing thread). I look forward to seeing the finished safari outfit. I'm sure it will be as lovely as all the pieces you have made and shared with us.

Trés snappy, Reverend! Nice cutaway coat and I assume the purple phalloid apparatus is some sort of anti-hysterical device?

"Nor running a chance of arrest?"
