I think it's kind of Steam Western. Cowgirl waiting for her dress to dry. Cute.

Would that be a "yes", then, Squire?

Someone told me my Unibloomer outfit is "steampunk." Is it? I don't know exactly what to call it but it's adorable! Maybe you had to dash from your (or a special friend's) rooms in the wee morning hours due to an emergency? I'd say, yes. Steampunkable.

That would be a Yes. If there were a ray gun strapped on a Sam Brown belt, it would be more obvious. Weird West, Steam Western, Western Steampunk...of, course, she might be an Adventuress from Southmoltonshire or Diddlesex or even Loamshire and then she wouldn't be 'Western' at all. Perhaps the effect of that last experiment has her wandering about her English garden in her underpinnings, slightly dazed.

Merely curious as to wether you might be suggesting that proper steampunk is limited to the English side of the Atlantic.

For me, at least, anything anywhere occurring from the late Napoleonic to the end of WWI can be steampunked. Continental boundaries, even planetary boundaries, do not enter the equation, except as to style.

I am mortified, Madame. My knowledge of fashion is woefully deficient. Forgive me please, m'am. Do you have any more photogravures of the 'Unibloomer?'

I'm sorry, but every time I read "Uniboomer" I get an image in my head of a pair of knickers wearing shades and a hoodie sending out ladies garments in the mail.

I might not be shot, sir, but had I presumed that steam was bound to the Queen's Isles, I would have been given a hard and meaningful look. The Republic, sir, The Republic! [I need a tongue-in-cheek emoticon] We do have a sort of 'Unibloomer' in Texas. I only wish I had a beautiful señora or señorita to model said garment.

Someone told me my Unibloomer outfit is "steampunk." Is it? I love your Unibloomer, I really would love to make one for myself. Did you make it yourself and if so is there a pattern you can direct me to? I'm sorry, but every time I read "Uniboomer" I get an image in my head of a pair of knickers wearing shades and a hoodie sending out ladies garments in the mail. And this gave me a giggle

I'm sorry, but every time I read "Uniboomer" I get an image in my head of a pair of knickers wearing shades and a hoodie sending out ladies garments in the mail. Yes, well, I suppose that might be a problem. But the idea is more along the lines of "unitard." We do have a sort of 'Unibloomer' in Texas. I only wish I had a beautiful señora or señorita to model said garment.
This Unibloomer is a Texas garment. Or in any case, it is a garment which currently and the foreseeable future, exists in Texas. I love your Unibloomer, I really would love to make one for myself. Did you make it yourself and if so is there a pattern you can direct me to?
Thank you, yes, made by me, and here's a link to a small tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=355437.10But the Combination pattern linked to by Miss Frame would work as well, though a slightly different shape.

Ah hell, saving this for the Asylum, but just want to share with you. Needs some tweaking with the bandolier, and a lanyard for the pistol, but basically it's done. Behold! The Steampunk Shock Trooper!
