Last night some friends and I rode over to Marathon, Tx for a few drinks at the newly opened Snakebite Saloon which is just down the street from the famous Gage Hotel. While I seem to have forgotten to take photos of the rest of the Saloon (the peanut shells that are crushed and cover the floor, the bar-top, stools and floor from the original mercantile shoppe that the Snakebite was before it was restored as a saloon, and of course the buffalo heads mounted on the walls). However, here is a photo of my lady and myself (without our coats and jackets as they were hanging on one of the biggest antlers I've ever seen): And without the cool photobucket effects: Also, there was a surprise (even to the proprietors of the establishment) night of entertainment. Two fellars from Austin were staying at the Gage and decided to play some music for us. They were a great act, who didn't really have a name and it turns out they're themselves steampunks. We found this out through a mutual admiration of each other's clothing. The singer (who looked like Kieth Richards, and apparently was a double for him in LA at some time) was wearing a Civil War-esque jacket. All-in-all a fun time was had all around!

The last few weeks have been full with good looking ladies and gentlemen and got me anxious to flaunt my Steampunk gear again, as it has been too long. Luckily, I had a wonderful opportunity this weekend, as me and a few other Dutch Steampunk lovers met to visit the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij ( Veluwse Steamtrain Company). Obviously, a true playground for this kind of thing and ideal backdrop for photos in a Steampunk setting. My favourite: A few more underneath the spoiler:

Great outfit; it looks at once very practical but unmistakably steampunk.

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

That's a great picture.
It's actually getting quite nippy here. I'm wondering if winter has decided to put in a late appearance at last. I do love me a bit of snow, especially if it buys more time with uni deadlines.

Trés snappy, Reverend! Nice cutaway coat and I assume the purple phalloid apparatus is some sort of anti-hysterical device?
Somehow I doubt the young lady would ever need treatment for hysteria!

Thank you all for your nice comments! =)
ratfinkboymicah: Actually, I really should've worn a hat (my hair was frozen at one point, and I partially blame the huge headache I had the entire yesterday on this), but unfortunately I don't have a proper steampunk hat/cap/thing yet. Great picture yourself, by the way! I see we have similar-ish jackets, awesome =D

I also like the way that gent is rockin his long piratey waistcoat. I'd never considered they could work so well with Vicwardian stylings, but now I see it it looks rather swish.
