Today I have deliberately risen far earlier than is my norm in order to scout the Halloween items in all of the local shops.
I am specifically looking for a small battery operated set of bulbs in order to do some last minute repairs to my artificial brain. I've managed to snap the internal wiring AFTER sealing the whole thing and now it doesn't glow in the dark.
I have to do this before tomorrow night's White Mischief event as it is an integral part of my Dr. Moreau / Bonzo Dog Band hybrid costume.
So, hopefully a productive day. Or a 'bodge job' depending on results.

Found decent holiday gifts to send to customers at work.
Can anyone tell me what a White Mischief event is...?

Can anyone tell me what a White Mischief event is...? White Mischief is a one-night indoor festival. But that bald description hardly does it justice...

I've been to something similar in San Fransisco called Sea of Dreams. A lot of artistic types get together and do their artsy thing and there are all types of entertainment, music, acrobats.
Thank you, Captain. You are most kind.

Not a jot. I intended to do many things one of which was making a copper headed spear but I ended up moving a wardrobe, cleaning out the animals and blitzing the house.
I now have to fit my entire weekend into tomorrow.
I have however managed to get back on here after far too long a time away from you lovely people so that a plus.

Let's see... I cleaned and rearranged my living room, assembled two new bookcases, fixed my vacuum cleaner and used it. That's way more productive than I wanted to be on the first day of my vacation. Plus I seem to have wandered back here after being too busy for internet for quite a while. That's bound to kill what's left of my "productivity".

I moved the steamer trunk and ran the vac so I could turn the heater on...and stupid me followed Xenos's link and I just now got to the end of the web comic. I would have done more if the snow had not foiled my plans and my friend who was supposed to come tomorrow most likely won't be...oh well, that gives me another day to get work done. Or find something else to distract me until another Halloween party on Monday.

I got my electric bill today and smiled and then frowned because now I actually have to use the heater. I like spring and fall and for some reason these past few years, especially this one, we have had neither.

I wrote and send a dutch motivation letter for the embassy in Tokyo. This probably wouldn`t be very impressive, if it wasn`t for the fact that I just woke up XD

Make a narrow shield (sort of Zulu look) and hang it with the spear on the wall crossed. Make it look like so in case of dire need they could be grabbed and you would be ready to make your stand for Queen and Country!

Cleaned out the wood workshop, cleaned all the tools that I don't use much, sharpened those that I use a lot, and coated everything (myself and assorted children) in linseed oil, white man's strongest magic. Filled up the firewood box with failed projects and scraps that haven't been used in 5 years. Killed about a dozen redback spiders without being bitten, I've been bitten once and it felt like a soldering iron burn, except that it hurt for days.

I made a leather collar and a wristband. The design is made around the idea of taking a piece of thick leather and folding it over on itself, riveting it so it leaves a rounded edge, as opposed to most leather bands/collars which have flat, potentially sharp edges. I am calling this design 'human collars' because they are made for humans to wear, not dogs.

I write-ed a new song. My first attempt at country. I think i did pretty good for less than 2 minutes! Oh, I kissed my wife With my fist My beer got hot Lost my shoppin' list Can't figure out What went wrong My dog left me All alone Cause I'm a good ol' boy Ridin' in my pickup truck Just a good ol' boy Flat outta luck My lady left me Don't know why Truck broke down My doggy died Now I'm sittin' Here alone Wonderin' why I'm singin this song Guess I'm a good ol' boy Down on his luck Just a good ol' boy Tryin' ta fix his truck Maybe one day It'll go my way till then I'm a good ol' boy Not much to say
Now, that is to be taken as a joke. A parody of country music if you will. So, I mean no offence to anyone who actively enjoies country-I myself just don't much care for any of it outside the Man in Black.

To quote a wiser person than I: "what good is life without a bit of Dolly?" More of an inspiring day than a productive one - drove up to a city called Spoleto yesterday, got up nice and early for a walk around Rocca Albornoziana and a nerve wracking stroll over the Ponte delle Torri. Stunning buildings and spectacular views, I've got a sketchbook full of inspiration and a head full of ideas. I'm definitely going to have to come back with the bike though, some great mountain biking to be had in these hills!

Went on a jolly day off, with the local branch of the Womens Engineering Society - on a wonderful nerd trip INSIDE the Erskine Bridge. They are fitting new anti-jump railings that have, by chance, got holes in that sing in the wind: awesom.

Well I was up at 6.30 to continue work on my coursework, seems pretty dedicated seeing as I only went to bed at 2. Thought the days of sacrificing sleep for Uni work were over- turns out I'm still bad at deadlines =P.
I've found satelite images of the area I'm mapping and written some stuff about them. Now just twiddling my thumbs until my dad wakes up- the software I need to combine the maps and images is on his computer and I don't have the password! Maybe I'll think of some other way to fill up 1500 words in the meantime....
I hope the rest of today is as productive as the first hour!
