I went out for one of my usual long walks. Which had to be curtailed because of the heat. I also finished my student loan forms this morning-so I'll be mailing one tomorrow.

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

Yep. Checked out hotel rates for when someone special comes to see me in December.
Each estimate I get makes me make that sound that a person makes whenever they get punched in the gut. And I've even asked two friends who work in hotels if they can get me a good rate... even with the discount, I'm still dying.

I removed the faux leather from my sunglasses, revealing underneath... what appears to be faux gold. Or, plastic painted like gold, as opposed to electro-plated metal elsewhere on the frames. Ho hum, how do we get around that little poser?
I also sent off my application forms for the loan necessary for my masters degree.

Started packing, as I'm moving at the end of the month. I'm appalled by the amount of junk I've accumulated the last few years.

I did go to work and I'm always productive there. I posted the bridesmaid dress I've kept in my closet for the last year on the web to sell. I got my tire fixed ( had a big nail in it). I took my son for a haircut..productive because he is probably now more productive, as he can see what's in front of him.

Followed up on 6 of my applications, finished two loads of laundry, folded towels, put away everything, called my mother, shuffled some things around in Geographical, posted to my Twitter (haven't done this in forever aside form the automated posts my Tumblr makes) and picked up our room.

Did you wash your hands after trapping the coon?

Work (though I was late, but not by much). Grocery shopping. I had my most recent ticket dismissed. Laundry. Made sure all the windows and doors are locked so that the scoundrel(s) B&E around our neighborhood will at least have a harder time of it, if they come to my house. Fairly productive considering I normally blow off the domestic chores in favor of more interesting pasttimes.

We went off this last weekend and decided to build a stairway made from extra pavers (2" x 8" x 12" concrete bricks) carved into the packed sandbox on which the Birdnest sets. After two days in the hot sun ... and plenty of assorted liquids ... we got it done. Lots of digging and very heavy rocks. Another project done (more or less) at the Birdnest. Now onto cutting down dead trees and chopping them into firewood (we've got LOTS of live ones remaining) I got the light sockets fixed in our antique chandelier. I cleaned up the carnage from the installation of the fans and chandelier. Today, I'm finally working on something remote billable - looks like I'll be able to continue this current vocation after all! Sunshine on the horizon.

Been doing pushups (and continuing doing them) for the past week and a half after work, ironically to get stronger for my job. Last week I could do them in sets of 15. This week I can do them in sets of 20-25. I can't do them off my wrists (I need those!), but the knuckles are a close substitute! I do a set everytime I crack a beer...so I do quite a few! The sad truth...

I fired up my drill at got to work on building my work bench. Then the battery dies, and the other one is deader than the first.
Guess that's what tomorrow is for.
