I continued to wage war on insurance companies that are responsible for my Worker's Comp claim, trying to get backed pay for some of the time I've been out of work...

I also RETURNED to work today for the first time in over 2 and a half months!  Cheesy  1500 piece truck, too...  Oi, the RDC can shove it for all I care...  They REALLY need to take more care in loading!

We had to go to our insurance office because they f'd up our house insurance. While we were there Darth Vader's theme started playing on the classical station they had on. I could not stop laughing.

That is TOO funny (about the Imperial March, not having to go to the office, that part sucks)!  I hope you ended up getting everything squared, I know dealing with them can be a real PAIN IN THE er...  Neck.  Yeah, neck! Huh  I really hope I DONT have to go to their office...  It's in AZ, and I'm out on the East Coast! >.<

After spending all of today frustrated with Maya, I have finally achieved something, albeit accidentally.

Check out my weapon -

Worked my ass off with the new inventory and some meter panels, then came home and straightened out a section of the garden. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend with decidedly more sleep than I've gotten lately...

Converted oxygen to CO2, jammed out to Black Sabbath, followed that up with some Andy McKee, nearly got ran over by an F-lift, managed to control my temper enough to NOT shank the b***h that nearly flattend me (for a totally different offence), got a 785 piece truck done in UNEDER the company average, helped my wingman Fluffy get his FIRST (yes, you read that right, FIRST) cell phone, found my lost microphone/cable/XLR to 1/4" adapter, and decided to go to bed BEFORE 3 AM.

Other than that, not really. Cheesy

Spent the day mucking about with apps for my new iPod touch. Also annoyed my ex-wife with the fact that mine has a built-in camera and hers doesn't.

Funniest thing: The moment I opened the app store app, a pop-up comes up asking me if I wanted the iBooks app- which was exactly the sort of thing I was planning to look for first. I think Apple is spying on me. Shocked

Unearthed my old leather riding boots and came them a good polish, then applied new stretching tools to the feet....the feet are long enough and wide enough but pinch in the top to bottom department...also I need to finish the work of putting laces in the instep.

Slept in for an hour, got out of bed, realized that my roommate took home a girl I really don't like. Went out for a smoke to give him a chance to smuggle her out, but he didn't take it. Then got a call that I had to go back to work. Got pretty upset and decided to put my roommate's 'night before's shoes on the balcony to let her know how welcome she is, and left. Mostly delegated all of my stuff when I got to work, and now I'm back home. Doing a bit of laundry and playing Fallout 3 now.

cleared the decaying plants from the vegetable beds, harvested the beetroot (to make beetroot wine), made a toile for a medieval shirt for Himself drafted from one of his old shirts, fitted it, cut out actual shirt from linen and made good headway into sewing it while watching Dexter, Merlin and Warehouse 13. And did some washing.

All in all, not a bad weekend.
  • Wired up a lovely old 1920s school bell on the top floor to a morse key in the kitchen, so we can call the kids down to dinner without yelling up the stairs.
  • Built a bookcase for my wife's study/library.
  • Repaired the lamp in said study.
  • Welded a new steering arm on my 4-year old son's electric car/go-kart.
  • Test-run of new steering - cycled along while both kids drove their electric vehicles along the river to Teddington lock.  Got stopped repeatedly by interested and/or curious passers by.
  • Started welding a pick-up bed for said car/truck.
  • Watched my eldest son get his green belt at Karate
  • Waved wife off on business trip to Paris; took kids out for pizza to celebrate (karate, not wife leaving).
  • Built a new railway embankment on youngest son's model railway.
  • Upgraded Linux on eldest son's computer.
  • Fixed leaking toilet
  • Repaired an antique voltmeter.
Tired now.

Oddly productive weekend despite still not feeling great. Friday (no classes) started off with a trip up to 5th ave in search of a sweatshirt for my sister; no luck with the sweatshirt but found a fabulous purple military jacket for myself. Came home and managed to finish the fairly large pile of homework due next week in addition to updating my blog. Saturday was spent working on my submission for a photography contest, interrupted by a trip to acquire some items for a photoshoot and to buy groceries. Day ended with making apple-cinnamon muffins Today was spent finishing up said contest submission and sketching out a new outfit. Now hoping that this string of productivity continues through the week...

Only helped a friend who has just moved for a few hours, and the washing. Apart from that nope, nada. And that's bad, because I have an outstanding poster to design (or three) plus other creativity that would make me feel good if I did it.

Oh, and does watching Poirot followed by Downton Abbey count as productive?  Wink
