I haven't done anything productive today, and I'm not planning to. It's the last day before vacation. Actually, where I'm working, yesterday was the last day for the "outside" colleagues. Inside, we prepare for 3 weeks off and to start again after that. Everything neccecary is drafted (I draft plumbing and central heating for houses and other buildings). After lunch it's the annual round of phonecalls, wishing a nice holiday to clients and manufacturers. This year I'm not going to be the caller, but the call-ee.
I've got Google Earth playing the route to our holiday destination, Austria. Right now it's about 100km thru Germany.  Grin
@Xenos: I'm honored to be inspiring. Cheesy I don't know if you have seen 35mm film pictures for a while, but to me it was a revelation to see the wonderful colours film makes. As apposed to digital. I hope you get your camera to work properly.

Took visiting American cousins on rapid tours of Glasgow and Edinburgh before they head further north. It is always such fun to show folks our city.

I had a surprisingly productive day considering I got to bed at 4.30am (out dancing with the girls =]), got up at 9, went to town to try to get some theatre tickets from a box office that ended up being closed (grrr), had a 4 and a half hour phone conversation with a new friend and installed skype.

Despite all of this I managed to collate some notes for my thesis, more than I normally manage on a Sunday =P

Four pickups in as many hours.

I'm now home for the day, and, after a MUCH NEEDED lay down (this bloody migraine is going to be the death of me, I swear it), I think I'm going to take Falling Thunder to a level 20 Monk, earn his sub-job, beast my way to level 30, and take him to Aht Uraghan, training him to be a Corsair and a Puppetmaster.

After that, maybe I'll do something USEFUL, rather than mindless entertainment.

Which I feel I have earned.

I've just had the first successfull run of the electric motor I'm building for a new steampunk project. It wasn't much of a run, the magnets are too far away and weak to allow it to start properly under it's own power, but it does get up to several thousand RPMs.  Smiley

Oh yeah, and it was mostly held together with duck tapeTongue

My new project is definitely something that has not been steampunked before - I did a thorough search.  Wink It is also going to be a project that will actually serve a purpose and will be used at least weekly in a very demanding and rough duty... (cryptic eh! )  Grin

Much work still needed, but I think it's going to be awesome. Something every steampunk home should have...  Cheesy

Better than last week when I got to bed (actually sofa cushions on the floor) at 5.30am and got up at 7.20am to get the bus home =P

I can only do this because I get Monday mornings off =]

Had dance class today, uhg, the teacher seems to think I have perfect ballence. I like tap dancing, but hate sliding around. Anyway, I'm close to mastering my hard steps, so I should be fine.

Got some much-needed doings done at the DMV, visited my favorite restaurant, and fed some friends' cats while they're out of town. Such sweet cats! My mom's cats avoid me whenever I visit, so it was very nice to have some cats that were excited to see me and get some attention.

Got my classic Mini running, it's now awaiting me to sort out the electrical gremlins - head lights don't work either, now...  Undecided   Still have to sort out the drivers side window, but managed to wind it 90% up and taped a bin bag over the door to stop rain getting in (and sod's law kicked in a it started raining as I was doing it...).  Cheesy

I did get a few things sorted though, finally managed to get the brakes unbound, though I think I'll need to grease up the handbrake cable. Also got the clutch mechanism freed, it was rusted up, and a few other niggles that are expected from a car that hasn't moved in a year..  Smiley

Feeling a bit sickly though, think I've inhaled a bit too much of the exhaust fumes....  Lips sealed

I`ve worked for 6 days straight, and spend most of the evenings either job hunting, learning the evening tour from the caves, arranging things or reading books, so I`d say it`s been a pretty productive week, really. No time to rest! I have only about a month and a week left before I get my last study financing, so I need to find a job as soon as possible.

In her car going through Saltaire. Thought my workmates were kidding me when they said they were going to see queenie at lunch, and maybe there'd been sightings of Miranda Richardson in the pub or something...
