Started clearing out my closet, first step in re-ordering my flat so that there is room to store my trike for when the mechanical/welding work is done, and I can get on with the wiring/instrumentation. When the trike is finished the space liberated (mostly by removal of spare bed in living room, job for tomorrow with friend) will be made into a workshop area. This all needed doing ages ago, but I have had no bloody stamina, having a stroke is a ......well, it's not recommended.
But while clearing out closet, came across books I'd forgotten about, among them being Sagan's 'Cosmos' which I'd only ever scanned, and Day Lewis's biog of Oliver Bulleid the loco engineer. And a couple bags of books and mags that can go down the charity shop.

MOT'd and taxed the motorbike, set up a direct debit, done a load of laundry, cooked tea,
I feel a post-productivity beer coming on.

I started out productive, but then a so-called friend gave me a link for Fantastic Contraption 2. So much for my morning...

I was much more productive yesterday: I refinished a table, did laundry, did the dishes, made chicken soup and fresh bread and took care of an ailing spouse... today I've moved the table indoors, and done some laundry...but at least now the 42 pounds of Legos have a table to live on and the bins can fit under...

Got started on killing the vicious vines that were trying to eat my house. Finished replacing an oak tread on the stairs that has been hanging fire for a while. Building a time machine, and bought webbing for my 3rd Foot and Mouth kit.
Mr. Harrow... I have heard of almost every regiment out there; 17th Lancers, 95th Rifles, even the 24th Foot. What duties, pray tell, would the 3rd Foot and Mouth have? What gear, what weapons? Inquiring minds want to know! Cheers! Chas.

Sunday I followed on from the closet clean out with a major sort out of flat, threw out the spare bed, the TV and the video recorder, releasing what looks like vast new spaces which ultimately will form a workshop area.
Today, visited a friend at his workshop, and got soluble oil on my hands for the first time since my stroke three years ago. A very evocative aroma, made all the more pleasant by the fact that the lathe from which it came is seventy years old and has recently been rebuilt by my friend- a clever lad indeed.

Introduced some fish to the tank. I'm pretty much stocked up. Hopefully the shrimp will start breeding soon.
I meant to do some tidying up, but that hasn't happened.

Getting ready for moving next week. I've gotten all of my utilities ready to be transferred to my new address, and things are set with the movers. All that's left is to finish packing and do a lot of cleaning.

Converted another 20 hours of cassette tape to digital. There's only 2 tapes left and I feel it's all been jolly well worth it.

I had a good, if long, day at work, the best bit being a very rich but lovely couple coming in 20 minutes before we closed and buying £450 of jewelry, including some gold cufflinks ^_^ I got some of the boxes and wrapping from the packaging delivery, and will be spending THIS week off getting ready to move so I have as little as possible to do later on. I would rather be living as if in a hotel for a couple of weeks and not have to do much on the day, than panic and leave eveything til the last minute. I HATE moving house, and have moved at least 16 times since coming to university, I'm hoping this is the last for a while!

Ran some errands, got an oil change and all around tuneup for my car, tidied up a bit, did some video gamin', watched Monty Python, and just finished an art commission. Today was surprisingly good!

I HATE moving house
I know that feeling. I'm moving myself next week. Unfortunately, I'm still packing, thanks to my employers not understanding the simple fact that two people can't do the work of six; I keep getting stuck with unwanted overtime because the idiots haven't hired any help to replace the people we've lost over the last few months.

Just got back from a hike in the Malvern Hills. Really poor journey back- the railway company arbitrarily cancelled the trains
