Hello all. For now, I am SteamFae. If you like, you can also refer to me by my real world name, Skye. I am 20 and live in Ontario, Canada.

I have been interested in steampunk for quite some time but I have only recently decided I would like to become a part of it. I'm working on designing steampunk attire for myself and my boyfriend. His is proving much easier.

I hope we all might get along and I can learn from this community.

Hi everybody. My nickname is Lady Berenikee and I live in a small country Slovakia in the middle of the Europe. I am female as you can probably guess from my nickname and in my late twenties. In my spare time I try to write but just recently wrote my first steampunk story and I am waiting for the feedback as I sent it to a literary competition.

I got into Steampunk just recently, so I am still a newbie. I recently read Mainspring by Jay Lake and The Anubis Gates from Tim Powers, but I plan to read also other books I can get my hands on. Next on my list is Difference Engine from Sterling and Gibson.

For some time I adored random pictures depicting steampunked versions of different movies or characters until I finally googled steampunk to learn as much about it as I could.

When I found these forums, I lurked for some time, but finally decided to join so I can participate and also learn new things from all of you Smiley

Well hello there, the world is small Smiley Many people left our small country, so it is nice to know that some remember where their ancestors came from and I am happy to meet you.

I am a Steampunk Jeweler/artist that lives in Seattle with his wife and two kids. I am a traditionally trained jeweler and after years of designing wedding set after wedding set my wife introduced me to the Steampunk genre and I have never looked back. My jewelry is more than just a compilation of found objects. I like to fancy myself as a jeweler living in the steampunk era and design based off of that premise. You can read more about my work on my website joshuadsanchez.com and please visit my Facebook page as well, see sig. Thanks! I look forward to getting to know more of you.

Hi all Smiley  I'm Ktara, and I'm just getting into steampunk.  I'm in Western Canada.  I'm probably not going to get into clothing, but I am thinking of several projects, small things to start with.  I've already changed my windows7 to the point that it's almost impossible to tell microsoft has anything to do with it Cheesy  I'm now hooked on Abney Park's music, and I think I've seen every picture google can come up with that has a steampunk tag on it Smiley

Hello! I'm Miss Mulluggs (aka Rosalind), I'm 19 and from south-east England. I've been interested in steampunk for quite some time, but only really started participating when a friend invited me and my better half to the Weekend at the Asylum in Lincoln last year. I'm also a member of Southampton University's Krakensoc. I've been lurking the brass goggles forums for a while and decided it was time to make an account.

Hello!

I am new here...obviously.

I've been reading this board more and more lately and decided to join.

I'm 27, engaged and am planning a Steampunk wedding!  That's the main reason I'm here, ideas and suggestions.

I'll also be attending graduate school for 3D animation in the fall, and am very excited.

I like ducks.  My favorite color is purple. Smiley

Hello, I'm Saskia. I became interested in Steampunk when I was into victorian styles and the gothic subculture. I hope to make Steampunk much more of a hobby. I enjoy the literature and fashion associated with steampunk.
Thank you for your time.

Hi everyone! Nice to meet you. You can call me Marasi, I'm 23, live in West Yorkshire and work in teh creative industry Smiley I'm pretty new to steampunk, but probably like a lot of people here I've discovered it's really just a name for a lot of stuff I already liked. And since I've 'discovered' it, I'm getting pretty obsessed Wink I'm really into art and drawing, and the aesthetic as well as the creative, imaginative, inventive side of steampunk really appeals. Generally though, I'm just a curious kind of person who's interested in a lot of things. I've joined this forum to find out a bit more and hopefully get to know a bit of a community, hope you'll bear with me if I ask a lot of questions!

I happened upon this site in the search for like-minded individuals with similar interests.
It was really just the natural progression of things that brought me to steampunk:
I've been smoking a pipe for a few years,
I perfer to carry a pocketwatch,
bow ties are cool,
there's nothing like a well fitting jacket,
and handkerchiefs are absolutely indispensable.
I'm 26, have a BA in Music, and mildly obsessed with Sherlock Holmes.

Hello.  I'm a fabricator of stuff.  Mostly I'm a visual artist, but I have minor skills in assembling things, leatherwork and costumery, and miscellaneous tinkering.  I have some ancestors and cousins who were serious inventors, but I am a dilettante.

I have a major interest in history with a multicultural approach, and a collection of historical ephemera and the odd doodad.

I don't consider myself a hardcore steampunk, but I admire the culture and hope I can contribute something of use and sense to these boards.

Hi, everyone ^^ Well, I think I should introduce myself so I will proceed. I'm Leo, a History of Art student from Spain (no jokes about our situation, please) and I've been inside this movement for about three or four years, logging in some forums, writing in a blog, writing for some publications as my blog and a steampunk short stories anthology, so I thought this would be a good moment to go abroad, to cross the barriers of the language and try in English, so I'm sorry if my English is not as good as it should but I will do my best ^^ Well, that's all I think but I'm open to new questions ^^

Hi My name is Paul Budvietas.

I live in a township called Feilding in New Zealand. It's a funny little township as we have a huge steam engine society as it was the last place the main trunk railway line was finished in. SO the township celebrate the Victorian era as part of it's culture.

However in saying that I'm only starting to try and find fellow steampunk fans in the area. I know of lots in Auckland, wellington and Omaru but will be looking at starting a society of it my area when I get around to it.

I've been a fan of steampunk for a long time (10 years or so) but have not gotten into making things for it until recently. It fascinates me so much I figure I'd start a blog about my exploits so will be doing that on a irregular basis.

Thank you

Hello,

My name is Dan Keizer.  I found this forum when I was browsing pictures of steampunk fashion.

I don't dress in the fashion, but I think it looks sweet.

I like steampunk because I look at the fantastic props and imagery that people create and it makes me think of ways that the technology can become reality.  It's the pseudoscience aspect that attracts me.

Greeting All from me. No idea what Steampunk is about?! I followed a Vaudeville search which directed me to a comment from 2010. I was looking for some vaudeville outfit ideas. I wanted to respond to the comment about Vaudeville & so then registered & here I am. Found my way to this spot trying to hunt down the comment from 2010. didn't find it. SLow signal & impatient me.
Otherwise...
I enjoy performing & have some skills. I have some super abilities when conscious in the dream world and otherwise am prone to phantastic dream sequences in semi-lucid state which I document & so bring into conscious existense. Many worlds of experience. hmmmm.
Been walking stilts since I was 14. Juggle. Ride Unicycle. Do devil sticks. Throw & catch a boomerang. Just bought some jumping stilts. Try them for the first time tomorrow. Want an outfit for the jumping stilts. Something which will allow movement. I like the idea of a mime or harlequin type outfit because then i dont have to answer questions about the weather when I am walking on stilts.

I read some of the comments & was enjoying myself. Great to join & I will continue at another time.
