Hi, a couple of us are popping down to York to visit the hat shop on Monday and thought we might make a day of it.  Nothing planned but I guess lunch and/or tea & cake could be the order of the day, maybe a drink or two and a wander round.

Anyone care to join us?

Count me in! I vote for the railway museum, to pose alongside the Royal carriages ...

Not certain what our plans for the weekend are as yet, but we may be able to attend.

Just a quick addition to let you all know the rendezvous points.

Catch the 9.43 train from Newcastle (if there's anyone else up here), meeting at the ticket office at 9.30; arriving in York at 10.41am. (Off peak day return costs £23.60.)

Meet 10.45am at the signal in the entrance to York station.

pm Me for a mobile number if you can't make 10.45am. Planning to take tea, then go hat shopping. :-)

After that, no plans as yet, depends what the weather's like I guess.

(Slight change with the train times, to allow for the Bank Holiday Monday bus service)

Absolutely, me too, great fun. I wanted to say you all didn't know what you've missed, but Lord M has just summarised it above.

But don't forget the hats ...
