Righto -
I am on board the airship appreciation thread now (I really should look beyond that 'see replies to your posts' button and explore the wider forum more often - bad maduncle).
I always enjoy watching a model build, you get to see all the interesting parts as they get stuck on before they get painted and you cannot work out where they came from.
The end result will be splendid as always - could you please add a miniature version of yourself wearing your rocket pack and standing on the foredeck about to take off?
Otherwise I will refuse to be impressed.
(well - I will try to resist, but you are so darned impressive it is all too much for me and my legs start to go all wobbly when I see your work...)
Aha - that's why I steer clear of new Herr Döktor threads - wobbly knee syndrome.

I think there should be an Acme-sized slingshot in there somehow..

That's Edward Fox, isn't it!? Blimey! I think you're right! Still, British actors always make the best Nazis, don't they? And it works the other way sometimes too! Remember Gert Fröbe as the Englishman Auric Goldfinger in the movie "Goldfinger"!

Finally getting back to this, thanks to finding a supplier of 1/350 scale warship guns: Main guns (twenty of them) are 14" Mark VII guns, as seen on the HMS King George V. For'ard guns are 5.25" QF Mark I guns, from the same ship. The big guns appear to be aluminium, while the smaller ones are brass. Which is nice. It's good to be back on this one, and it's amazing how much more 'finished' the guns make it look!

I can't not look at this and be reminded of Stephen Hunt's 'Iron Partridge'; especially now with the guns fitted. Beautiful work!

Managed to do a little more today, namely the big Cloudbuster gun on the prow: The wheel-like structure has a length of ribbed plastic, giving the appearance of a cog-like drive to raise and lower the weapon. Still need to add some more details. Also added three 'hardpoints' to the underside- possibly for refuelling and docking with other aircraft or a mooring tower: Three of them along the keel- allowing for several actions to take place at once. Or, possibly to hide three large woodscrews that hold the thing together

There is a singular cheese head screw thus far... But I'm not saying where. Meanwhile, gangway and railings: Now the very tiny crew can run to the cloudbuster as and when needed.
