VERY interested. Just need to see if I can juggle my schedule to be down there then. I have been to a White Mischief each year since they started and they are GREAT.

I particularly love the arriving bit: You have been stared at on the tube coming in from the outer wastelands, but gradually a couple more folks in steampunk gear get on and then you can start to see the looks on the normals faces start to change as they realise something is going on that is obviously a lot more fun than what they had planned. Then, when you get out onto the street at Kings Cross and there are loads of ladies and gentlemen in amazing outfits converging on the Scala and everyone is chatty in the queue. Brilliant.

Highly reccommended for all ages. I am no spring chicken but I was far from the oldest in attendance. Steampunk is SO accepting.

I won't be attending this time but I can vouch for the great fun WM parties are. I've been to their 'Paradox Club' and their halloween bash at the old Sierra Leone Embassy was awesome...if incredibly crowded. Their parties are very popular!

Music from Thomas Truax, Mr B, and Tankus the Henge, who have a steam powered piano and who Tobias from White Mischief declared "Kings of Steampunk" when they played the steampunk stage at Bestival!

Hello all

I was going to post a message on this forum to mention our Great Exhibition show but I see I've been beaten to it. So gratified to see the positive comments, which are very much appreciated. Thanks to our supporters - I think you realise this is a labour of love and that without your participation it wouldn't happen. We're also not perfect, so any feedback is always welcome.

For this our third birthday party we're happy to have gathered some of the best known steampunk creators: Prof. Maelstromme, The Clockwork Quartet are exhibiting pieces and it's looking very likely that Herr Döktor and James Sydeian are going to supply exhibits too. A variety of steampunk artists and craftspeople will be selling their wares, and if you fit that description and would like a space to sell from, do drop me a line at whitemischiefnight@gmail.com - we'd love to hear from you.

There's a tremendous pool of talent associated with the steampunk world and it's impossible to book them all at one event, but I think anyone with a love of the steampunk aesthetic will get something from performers like Thomas Truax, Voltini and his amazing Tesla coil show, Elemental the pith-helmeted rapper, Tankus The Henge and Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer.

On top of this we have spontaneous entertainment breaking out around the building such as bands and walkabout characters in the stairwells and alcoves... Hodman and Sally, visitors from Oblivia, have to be seen to be believed and Oompah Brass, with their oompah renditions of pop tunes, are quite unique.

Although the White Mischief crowd is wider than just steampunks, we very strongly encourage the dressup aspect so we're proud that it's one of the most heavily costumed groups of partygoers you'll see anywhere. Some of our revellers explore the steampunk look even if they're just beginners - but it's great to have you seasoned experts to show them what's what.

As for when the party might sell out, I'm updating a banner on the site every time we go up a bracket by 10%. Right now it's at a little over 20% so you still have time to buy your ticket, but as someone else has said, our NYE and Halloween parties sold out a week or so before the date and many of our big events do sell out. So try to give yourself time. And please spread the word...the more genuine steampunk enthusiasts the better.

I am so sad I cannot go to this one as the event looks a hundred times more brilliant than the previous brilliant ones that I have been to. So NOT FAIR. Darling coglette is going, which is also not fair. [stamps foot petulantly]

Every sideshow, display and music group are examples of my toppest favourites. You may detect how spitting mad I am that other committments are keeping me away.

In fact I am now wondering if its possible to still get there if I leave edinburgh at 6.

Hi all-
I'l be attending both nights, already picked up a VIP tic. Sadly, I wont be dressed up, since I'm here on a business trip and this all popped up last minute. If anyone wants to meet for a drink before hand, or knows a good gathering place, please let me know, I'm a stranger in a strange land, and don't know anyone here outside of the office. Other than that, looking forward to a good night out!

*EDIT* not sure what they're called here in the UK, but if there are any cheap thrift stores in the area, where I could pick up an old vest for cheap, I'd love to know. Cheers!

It depends how much disposable income you have, but since Scala is on the Northern line, you could make the short journey up to Camden Town market (which is a little pricey) and you WILL find something you like there. (Don't stop at the first few markets, go and delve right into the Stables market)

Or you can go into town a bit more and there are some good shops around Soho.

I'll see you at White Mischief at Scala. I might wear my stilts.

Tankus the Henge are playing, the British steampunk band who are currently taking Albania by storm. Check them out at www.tankusthehenge.com

See you there Sir!
