you can swing the squeeze handle and knuckle guard sideways, it will pivot at the ends where it goes around the pipe. it will swing over enough to uscrew the end cap of the flashlight and let the battery pack out. the end of the flashlight is where the squeeze handle has the two half round lumps glued to it. it seems the batteries and the contacts at either end of the battery pack tend to tarnish or corrode a little bit and the voltage drops and the light looks like its very dim. spinning the batteries a little will scrape the ends clean and make them contact the battery pack better. also its best to remove the batteries completely if you are going to be storing the syringe for a while. if the batteries go bad and leak, it can mess up the flashlight bad.

Amazing work on the syringe otto!
i have heard rumours they are going to make an syringe replica in the next series of Bioshock merchandise, Hopefully it will come to fruition so i can purchase one.
I recently bought one of the EVE syringe replicas as part of a splicer Costume im working on. it should turn up in the mail any day now! I'll post a picture once its complete.
Looking forward to the end result of your costume Darkshines!

The Replicas are always cool but your own DIY version would be awesome, I'm thinking of modding mine when it comes in the mail. Sticking some more blue lights in it to illuminate the whole of the bottle instead of just the base and trying to find a way i can have the needle retract into the bottle when you push it against your arm. This is one of the masks i've been working on.

For the giant adam hypo I always thought a window caulk gun looked like one to begin with and could easily be modded. They run about 18usd and most construction workers I know don't even keep the gun once its out so you might be able to salvage one free I just now finished mine. I used a caulk gun and it looks pretty awesome. It's not as true to the awesome gas pump handle version, but definitely good enough for my Halloween party with friends. My costume is amazing, though. I'll post pics after Halloween and would love to see you guys' interpretations as well!!! Happy Halloween everyone!

Well obviously it was supposed to be an ironic take on the less than admirable attitude of some British colonialists to the native women of the countries they’d invaded. Ah those pesky Evil Empires. But in all truth yes…yes it is hehe. Obviously I rescued all the Little Sisters so I’ve never seen the bad ending to Bioshock. But much as many people apparently hated it. Personally, the good ending? almost brought a tear to my eye. And the second one was like a kick in the nuts! Bioshock 2 ending spoiler ahead! I mean sure, the character (whom I shall refer to in the first person) might have been stuck in a diving suit unable to speak for the rest of my life but y’know, some people like that sort of thing!
And yeah I did get to kind of live on in her memories but *snort* hardly the same me thinks.
I mean she didn't even try to save me.
Ungrateful cow! Yes I am bonkers btw lol

looking at the artwork and the syringe, it could easily be made from PVC pipe fittings and found items. they went a little overboard using a real pump handle and all that metal. you could tell it was a handfull. you could make something thats 90% accurate with common hand tools and epoxy. lighting it up would be a little more complicated but not as bad as you would think. Would you please send me a copy of the plans you used to make this?! I would greatly appreciate it
