southampton, (well, a tiny lil' suburb called locks heath, fareham)  with no other steampunks that i know of in the area, it is a lonely existance...
I don't know why I have to learn algebra... I have no intention whatsoever of ever going there...

"Uh-uh. I know what you're thinking. Did he discharge 6 chambers, or was it only 5? Well, I rather forgot myself, what with all this excitement and all. But seeing that this is a .45 Civiliser, the most powerful hand-cannon in the Empire, and will blow your goggles clean off, you ought to ask yourself a question. Do I feel lucky?

"Well, do you... steampunk?"

We are in South Norfolk, seems a little less active around here than in other parts of the country. We look on enviously at the wonderful events going on elsewhere, but it's too expensive to travel all the time.

Hi Adam

We aren't far from you and there are a few other people active in Norfolk, though it's not exactly a hotbed of steampunk activity. There are a few events being planned this year and there is always the Asylum in Lincoln in September to which we will be going. As for clothing there really is no right or wrong, just do whatever you feel comfortable with. We would also like to meet up with others locally so hopefully something can be arranged soon.

Hi Chris and Judy

Good to meet you, we have noticed its a little quiet here but hopefully
that will change.  We look forward to hearing about future events and
we would love to go to the Asylum event in September to see you all.

Meeting up with others locally sounds like a fab idea and we look forward
to hopefully seeing you soon.

Happy New Steampunk Year  ;D

Hello all, currently residing in the real ale haven of Derby. Up for a few drinks and maybe a round of cards against humanity in the Flowerpot/Seven Stars/Furnace/Sitwell with any fellow local steampunkers  ;D

Good Afternoon.
I am new to this wonderful world, however have been immersed in the world of Steam Punk from Mr Verne's writings via Mr Reeve to Mr Stephenson's Diamond Age.
I am most interested in land transportation of all types, my current fixation being modifications to Model T Fords for speed and excitement.. ;)
I am developing my alter-ego of tinkering gentleman-racer and reading voraciously.
I currently reside in a fair coaching village just south of Durham in the darkest North East of England.
I spend a lot of time up at Beamish, a Steamy Heaven implanted into the modern world.
Kindest regards and Salutations,
P Norris Esq.

I hail from the seaside township of South Shields in the North East of dear old England, birthplace of John Simpson Kirkpatrick and Sir Ridley of Scott, Englands oldest provincial evening periodical and the finish line for The Great North Run.

Indeed, there really isn't much here at all...

...but for the time being I call it home, amongst other opprobrium.
