As much as it pains me to state this, I will be moving from Liverpool to The South, to be more precise - The West Country...I fully expect to begin ending all sentences with: "Alright my loveeerrr" and finding that swimming becomes a lot easier with the newly installed webbed feet.
Here's to hoping it's all over quickly.

Which bit of the West Country my loveeerrr? We are developing a good steampunk social scene in the Poole/Bournemouth area.

Ohh really, I was hoping to get up to showground on Sunday anyway! Seems a rather suitable venue for a small gathering ;0)

Yes indeed! A group of us descended on the poor unsuspecting souls at last years, and had a whale of a time. I even bought a rather nice brass camping stove for a very reasonable price, that I managed to use over this weekends camping debacle Cheesy Come along! Join us......

I shall indeed endeavour to do so - do you meet at any particular locale or time, or should I just look for the rather smart and alternative crowd having the most fun at any given point in the day?

Well, with normal meetups you simply look for the column of steam or steam-subsitute on the horizon, but at a steam rally.....not such a safe bet, hehe. Therfore, I suggest the more modern method of looking on the united kingdom geographical board closer to the day, and seeing where everyone has decided to meet and when.....there is a thread started about the lincoln meet already, I believe!

Roughly some hilly area called the Quontots...I think. May be no more than an hour and a half drive from Exeter....or 3 days zepplin ride.

Afternoon, all.
I appear to be finding myself in the wilds of Scotland in a few weeks, so would be very interested in meeting local steampunks, with in character or otherwise!
I will be staying near Thankerton, with several visits to places such as Glasgow during my stay.
So, local Steampunks, drop me a line via PM and we shall arrange!

I'm also keen on meeting up with other locals and would gladly help organise such a soiree should there be any interest.

Hi Mort,

You will be pleased to know I'm sure that there are already a number of us that reside in Lincoln all the year round and we have recently had our first local meet - it happened the Wednesday before The Asylum so we might recognise one another! - and it was a wonderfully convivial evening indeed.

We have a local forum and it would be great to see you on there, as well as here, http://lincssteampunk.informe.com/forum/ucp.php

You can also find a couple of us hanging out regularly at my small emporium in Central Market should you wish to come by and chat (we always welcome a break from that thing know as work). Wink

This invitation is also extended of course to all the folk within the greater environs of Lincolnshire and those hopping the adjoining borders as may be interested of course.
