Laceby, bloomin' heck!  I've lived in Grimsby, Humberston and my UK place of abode is now Waltham (although I'm currently in a hot and sunny country).  It really is a small world we live in...

If you have a wrought iron pin you could place it in Quarry Bank, at one time in Staffordshire, but for too long part of the gruesome "West Midlands" but a stones throw distance from the site of the creation of the Titanic's anchors. I once owned an old chain makers workshop in nearby Cradley Heath.

Not with the Drunken Monk/ Crimson Moon are you?

I expect there's a portion of us on here who have already (inadvertently) made your aquaintence.

Quarry Bank!  You're less than two miles from me, that chain makers wouldn't be the old workshop in Mushroom Green would it?  I got a couple of nice photos of that while out on my Mountain Bike last summer.

I've been to the Mushroom Green chain makers shop many times, it's a short walk from home. We took the children on open days to see chain being made. Still got a couple of links of chain somewhere.
The workshop I owned was in Claremont street. I regret selling it as it's been modernised almost beyond recognition. There used to be one in Butchers lane as well.

Could I beg a pin just south of Anglesea--Bethesda to be precise?

The first one in the North West of Wales.  Are myself and my other half really alone up here?

Greetings Mister Fox, you are certainly not on your own living in North Wales, as I reside in Wrexham and we have fellow steampunkers around Denbigh.

We occasionally meet up in Chester so please come along if you can.

Regards

Grum

Another member from North Wales here (Mold to be precise). Will you be attending our Llandudno gathering at the end of July Mister Fox?

I believe if you were to put a pin on central Surrey, then that is where my Cottage-Upon-The-Hill lies at the moment.
This is truly wonderful to find so many British Steampunk Folk in one place together! I must thank my friend Glasgow Jon for showing this to me!
