I found out yesterday that if you live or wok in Cardiff, and can prove it, you can get a FREE pass into the castle. It doesn't cost a penny to apply, and it lasts for 5 years, so even if you move away, it still counts. You just fill in a form, provide two passport photos for your pass, and show them proof of your address. All these years and I never knew I could go in for free! Guess where I will be eating lunch from now on? Smiley

hmmm, I've not lived in Cardiff for 20 years but my driving licence still has my parents' address, wonder if I could get away with that!  Wink
Stunning castle though, took it for granted when in lived in the area but now love to visit as often as possible when I'm back that way.

the free pass is only a recent thing the council have brought in to get locals to appreciate whats close to them. I love the castle and the military museum inside has some great stuff too!

I wish they'd do something similar up here in the North.  Caernarfon, Conwy, Harlech, Penrhyn... Excellent idea, though.  Kudos to the Council!
