We are proceeding well with the magazine and are collecting articles etc.  We have sourced printing and are looking forward to launching our first issue.  We are however looking at time schedules.  We want to launch the magazine at a major steampunk event but print schedules mean we cannot get it produced in time for the May launch we wanted so for the moment we are on a temporary hold.  We want to make sure we produce a quality product from the outset so hope people can be patient.  Further information will be forthcoming.

We have been compiling material for this.  We felt the best way forward was to have enough material for the first three issues (notwithstanding news features etc) before we started publishing in order to have a buffer for production deadlines.  We have some very big plans for 2011 and will probably launch to coincide with these.

I'm very happy to write some "how to" articles on making things - jewellery, millinery, costume etc (you know my writing/photography credentials Wink) 6-9 steps with accompanying photos - kind of thing?

Just give me plenty of notice so I can schedule it in among the other project work Wink

I'm also happy to contribute if I can - I've been accused of being able to write for England (Point me at a topic* and stand well clear); and also have experience proof reading, etc etc.

*This could apply equally to the chocolate bar

Also would like to offer my services, no i idea what you need but i tend to be able to turn my hand to most things

good luck.

I'd happily contribute what I can to such a project.

I'm not sure if the interest is there, but I have reasonable experience in crafting game reviews, of which a few titles in recent years have definitely been dipping into the Steampunk paint pot.

I would love to help write for the magazine, as I have spent years writing about Victorian literature, science, medicine, social aspects, theory and crime, I would love for my work to be put to good use. I would also like to write new things, if people tell me what they would like to know, both fictional and real life. Essays I have written in their completion (at least 4000 words) include mesmerism, devolution, contagion theory, gender divides through symbolism, and majik, although there are probably others.

Hi

I used to be involved in phototypesetting in a previous existence and more recently in desktop publishing so I have some layout skills if you need them. I also do collages in the steampunk style both as cards and hangings and make jewellery so if you'd like any 'making' type articles around that sort of think I'd be happy to help. In fact I'd be more than happy to help in any way you think I could ...
