That would rather be the sensible thing to do, thank you :)

Been meaning to get to the Wendy House in Leeds for ages, but finances are an issue right now.... I'm one of the Chesterfield lot, so it's a bit far for a taxi home! Chesterfield meet up would be great though.

Good evening

For those in the Nottingham area may I recommend the monthly Steaming Sundays at the Industrial Museum at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham. It is a most interesting venue with many fine steam powered machines and located in the fine grounds of Wollaton Hall. http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=2562    I must admit I did rather promise to promote their museum which is in danger of further council cuts closing it entirely.

I reside in Cambridgeshire myself but I do enjoy the odd weekend in Nottingham and would love to re-visit that museum in the company of fellow steamy enthusiasts.

I was in Colchester at the weekend, my Dad's side of the family come from there. It's a lovely old town, and near the sea (in land locked Derbyshire, I don't get to see it as often as i like...)

Good for you, everyone should spend time in Colchester :P
I must admit I haven't been to Derbyshire... or much outside of Colchster (I blame age...)

We definatly should!! There are some really nice pubs in colchester (free of the "usual" sort...) and some really nice places as well... But if you were to go the pub route I would be unable to attend until september (Still 17 blast it...) but it sounds like a briliant idea! I can imagine Steampunkers arrive en masse to the castle for a day and worrying everybody!

Adding to the London ranks...

I currently reside in the wilds of south London, and can usually be found forcing books on the unwilling public at wonderful establishment on Charing Cross Road.

I'm very new to steampunk as a community, but I seem to have been inadvertently living it quite of my own accord for some time now, and bearing all the associated question marks generated by showing up to parties wearing a corset...

Very pleased to make your collective acquaintances!

Hello all from the middle of nowhere, namely southwest Stirlingshire. Not much out here but I pop into Glasgow fairly often.

Greetings Everyone!

New to the community but not the ideas.

I am located near Cambridge and have a small band of misfits I am guiding through this wonderful world.
I hope to have wonderful conversations with you all and see many of you at the event toward the end of July.

Hello Mel,

Welcome to the forum. I had meant to say hello on the East Anglia thread but got carried away with posting links about railways! I am just north of Peterborough. There are not many of us in this part of the world....yet.

Cheers,
Herr Orgel Fuhrer.

Current location is Surrey, Kingston Upon Thames.
Spent a good deal of time in Kingston more than 10 years ago when the other half was at university there.... we still go down that way from time to time as we have friends in Worcester Park which isn't all that far away.

I did post in the United Kingdom Register of Interests thread, but it's certainly gotten rather long!

I am in Great Malvern in Worcestershire.

Probably time to start a south London Surrey/Kent type thing: before now we've had meet ups at Kew Gardens, Crystal Palace (Dinosaurs!), and a bit further out at Painshill Park in Surrey, I'll start a new thread, meet me there!

There's the Asylum event in Lincoln in September, maybe if you have a gander at the thread you might be able to get in on it  :)

Grimsby, never quite as bad as people say it is  ;)  Technically my house is in Waltham, but you say that and people say "Walthamstowe, really?"
So when times are hard and life is rough, you can stick the kettle on and find me a cup...
You can find me at facebook Here
