Ahh and as note, as I forgot to add it in the previous post (I know I know... Bad Lady Chaos).... I am an 8-year veteren of A-kon (Dallas anime convention) doing security and crowd control (I controlled all of the lines on the main floor and for concerts and such, well prior to 10pm-ish). I do have to say that this last year, with Abney Park leading the way, I'm turning in to quite the little steampunkette.
To any of you who were waiting in the forever long line of the AP concert, I'm sure I remember you. You were the ones I made sure got to be in the front of the line. Waiting for several hours before that line even began, the garb was fantastic, and being quite patient and amazing with me whilst running around like a beheaded chicken; It is because of all of you, and AP, that I've begun to dial back the clock and dive into this wonderful world.
May new worlds await you,
Lady Chaos

And we did ever so appreciate your efforts Lady Chaos. You should stop by sometime if you've the mind to.
Alexius Carthwall: Good to see someone up there taking the initiative. Keep it up and you might be surprised with the numbers that come wandering out of the desert to slake their thirst for fellow Steampunks. Best of luck

Thanks Quinlin, I'm hoping to make it out to Dallas for a SIS event soon. Just have to find a weekend free from work and school that meshes haha.
Cheers!

We're kind of taking it easy till next year due to the tax situation. Mostly just relaxing and enjoying each others company for now. We've a train ride scheduled tentatively for the 6th of November(assuming the 1896 Steam train will be repaired by then properly). We'd hoped to make it this weekend, but it's still off. Would be a great time to come down if it works out.
But don't worry, we'll have many more events coming as the time sees fit. Do check in with the calendar as we try to post events as soon as possible for everyone to be aware.

Well in all fairness, the punkers were diligently waiting for several hours before I even started the line for the event. I assured them (and you if you were there) that I'd make sure you got in the front. I had that line build up 3 times before I was even ready to form it. I'm definitely glad I decided to check out what the big deal was as normally I run away from the concerts.

I do, kind of. To be quite honest I rarely use it, and I'm not really sure how to do most of the actions on it. Plus I don't like that it won't let me use a different name. Feel free to look for it, it's mostly people from where I work. Look under Chaos_lost_dsp and the e-mail is Chaos_lost_dsp@yahoo.com

been a while since I posted here but I have a question for the more knowing of my fellow steampunks in texas... more specifically those in the D/FW area, which is where I live.
I am in need of a tailor, you see, I have basic sewing skills but I am of a... large size and my skills simply could not make a seem strong enough. hence my need for a tailor, I mean a real tailor for custom clothes. Search Engines can give me addresses and what not, reviews sure... but not from people that would KNOW, like you all
Please and Thank You, all. Please and Thank You

Many greetings to all,
I just wanted to hurl myself into this since me and my friend will be moving to Austin next summer and would love to be updated on the goings on of all you lovely people. Well, we are both in Texas at the moment just in Houston until I finish up with school here in Savannah, and we would love to make our debut soon. Alright, I will keep from rambling on any further!
Ms. Squid

Salutations Texans,
Saying "G'day" to my Steampunkers of Texas. I am located here in beautiful San Marcos, Texas. I'm new to the scene but hardly new to the concept. Hoping to get together with some SP savvy folks and hopefully paint the town red

Electricity can be dangerous. My son tried to stick a penny into a plug. Whoever said a penny doesn't go far didn't see him shoot across that floor. I told him he was grounded.

Welcome Dr., You'll soon learn (if you didn't know allready) that there is a fair size community of Steampunks up in Austin. And we're fairly active as well! Some of us meet on a regular basis every two weeks or more. (activities pending) The group I meet with has at least one chemist and one rocket scientist. (not kidding) Here is "our" web page. http://texassteampunks.ning.com/ There are other groups of Steampunks here in the Austin area as well. It would seem there is a little something for everyone in Central Texas. Wether you are a maker, a dresser or meerly want to observe and appreciate. Hope to meet you some time. Arvis P.S. funny, I don't remember signing twice!

Arvis Arvis Thanks Arvis! I love that Austin has a large Steampunk community, unfortunately with my work schedule I never have the time to just hang out in Austin. It's a shame but these blasted bills and this ugly thing called "adulthood" enters the picture . Hopefully, with that site you provided, I can find more local groups in San Marcos. Again, thanks Arvis!

I live near Wimberley and San Marcos is just about 20 minutes away. If you ever want to just get a pint, PM me. I would be happy to come in kilt and bowler and walk the square and talk about steam.
