Lord, what fools these mortals be!

« on: November 22, 2009, 03:08:31 am »

Upon stepping through the hidden door in the wall of a mausoleum, you come to realize that yes, The Court of Miracles is not a myth, but very much a reality. It is not the pathetic fantasy created in the mind of a lunatic in hopes of solitude and peace, but it is a physical place where this same lunatic can enjoy unbiased love.

Ahead of you is a long, dark tunnel. If you are true of heart and spirit, you will be accepted with open arms. If we decide we do not appreciate who you are and what you do, you might as well consider yourself a hanged man this very moment. Although, there's no point in turning back. You've most likely already been surrounded.

The Court of Miracles welcomes the citizen who is ostracized. Outsiders band together and form their own legion of beings, deep underground where they are not afraid to be themselves.

Perhaps you are not a distinguished inventor, or courageous explorer. Perhaps these people consider you a broken gear stuck to their boot.

No matter to them. This is The Court of Miracles, where anything can happen.

Come in, if you dare.

We also welcome pirates, who seem to be sadly unpopular around these parts.

Miles (a sailor)Martin glides past the mooring mast as he valves more hydrogen into the envelope and start swearing in Carthaginian as he has to make another approach.  Grabbing a leather and brass megaphone " Is there anyone present down there "he calls , "I could use a bit of help tying up." he then pops the speed brakes on his Andrews Dive Bombing Dirigible Anachronism IV and kicks the temporary anchor over the side of the gondolas porthole .

*looks around slightly bewildered*

Any room for a norse deity, abandoned before Ragnarok ever had a chance to happen?

It's still coming, you know, Ragnarok.  It's just taken a lot longer because our lifespan is longer than that of the people of Midgard.  Plus the serpent, Nidhogg, still slumbers.  Jormungandr is still chained.

I've been an outcast for as long as I've been.
Even among other outcasts, I still feel like the weird one, even if they don't agree.

I'm in.

I am just the same as you chaps!
Didn't want to ramble in my initial post so I edited out the part where I basically said:
I didn't ever fit in anywhere, not even with the other oddballs who incidentally all seemed to be really simlar even though they were "alternative" and trying to rebel against conformity and all that Undecided

(sorry for being gone so long as i had a bit of RW personal headaches to handle: vehicle fixing, house repair, helping family, getting ready for school)

thank you my dear ,might i introduce myself ,Miles Martin, former submariner, former torpedoboat skipper, currently Captain and owner of the Walker Patent Airship" Areion 33 1/3".
Now I said something about buying you a drink , so, lead on lead on since you have knowledge of this place that i am currently lacking.
justa bit of a misfit myself , named to be a solder so went for a sailor now a flier and part-time  merchant escort comander. funny how life gets in the way of the best laid plans.

Brian: "You are all individuals!

Crowd (in chorus): "Yes, we are all individuals!"

Lone voice from rear of crowd: "I'm not!"

            - from "Monty Python's Life of Brian."

I was born, on the cusp of Virgo and Leo almost to the minute, in a tiny English village right on the border of Cheshire and Staffordshire, which is also the border between "The North" and "The Midlands", of mixed English and Welsh ancestry with a touch of Romany, to a working-class family with middle-class pretensions; I never "fitted in" at school (with all the emotional trauma that kind of thing entails!), and have spent the rest of my life falling through the cracks between definitions; sceptic/mystic, scientist/artist, an outcast who never fitted in even with other outcasts.

May I enter your Court of Miracles, good people?

Crawling out from behind the divan, Miles says "pardon me, laides&gents bet have any of you seen my kitten ? she seems to have vanished again
Harliquin where are you dear, she is 5 weeks old and wieghs maybe 90 grams now" as he contines to look around the room while checking all of his coat and jacket pockets..... you see a tiny little kitten peeking out of the top of the Dixe Cup hat that Miles is wearing... he continues to search ...
