Hmmm, the weekend......Sat will be sewing and riding (if the weather holds) and sunday is car boot day where I need to find some sturdy fabric for a project and anything else that catches my fancy. I have some hair dye so I might treat myself to a couple of pampering hours and a new hair colour (flame (gold))
Oh and drinking, lots of lovely drink to make up for a manky week. I may even go so far as to make elderflower fritters *yum yum*

Oooh, elderflower fritters... is that as in elder flowers fried in a tempura batter? Any chance of your batter recipe? Lots of elders up the lane. I'm off on a narrowboat tomorrow, then dancing sun and mon.

Big tip! Keep everyone involved at all times if you can! Nothing is more boring at a session than one player dominating everything and leaving other players in the shadows for most of a session.* *This has happened a few times in D&D sessions I've been in, once was due to my character being the only one who knew, from his background of being a Sergeant in a cannon crew for Nuln (was a Warhammer setting), how to direct the fire of our ship on to a Dark Elf (Druchii) Slave ship. For about 30 minutes I got most of the action, blowing apart the Dark Elf ship with a constant stream of 19s & 20s which eventually blew off the back of their ship and sank it, which annoyed the DM who'd been planning for it to lay alongside us

Thanks for the tip. It's the first time I've DMd before, and I'm kinda nervous.
Also, that girl from last night? The one in the corset? Turns out she was Bi. Missed opportunity there...

I've been rolling crap for the past three weeks in D&D. Last week, I (Level 7 Ranger Elf) split the party (I know, I know... but I can't resist a good chase. Decent prey is hard to find. ) to chase after a Level 6 Paladin on horseback, and rolled nothing lower than 17. I shot his horse and dealt quite a bit of damage before the fight even started, since I rolled a 20. The thing pretty much rolled over him several times before he got up. He took 18 points of damage for it. I ended it in two rounds, and was bloodied by the end, but only because he used a Daily, and then burned an action point to strike again with something else. I think I accidentally took the wrong dice. I think I got my DM's ass-kicking dice that he uses when he wants to punish our Warlock for meta-gaming. xD Oops. Hope you've got a lot of really good stuff planned, Helios! Nothing better than a DM who has lots of plans.

Well, the game is off for tonight. I've trawled through the DM's Guide, I've found a pre-made adventure I can shoe-horn into my campaign, but one of my two and a half players has had to drop out. And considering the adventure is designed for a party of 3-5 PCs, I don't think I could fudge enough dice rolls to keep one PC alive.

I so miss the joys of DMing.
I've even got a brand new campaign area all set up sitting on my desk at work. But even the best plan is really just a sandbox. My favorite part was taking cues from my players and expanding into unknown directions. Trying to keep up and thinking one the fly always made for a fun time.
As far as "fudging dice rolls". Rule one is the DM over rules all dice rolls. As long as you keep it fair and consistent. and you can always find ways to keep players alive, even if sometimes the alternative to death isn't quiet better.

well im officially on a half decent mood again, finally finished my raygun to a point im happy with it (pics in the correct thread) working on some plans for other things.
D&D its been a fair few years since i played that... although the memorable game where we found a magic toad that granted one wish each (one of the party said i wish i had a shotgun and was promptly sent into another dimension never to be heard of again, but i did wish for a copy of him so we could finish the game)

Thats right. Dip a fresh blossom in a sweet batter and fry for a couple of secs then dip in sugar. I just use a simple pancake recipe of flour, water/milk, an egg and maybe some sugar to sweeten. Don't pick them if its rained that day otherwise they just won't crisp up.

So, last night I was dead tired, and talking to that guy I kind of having something going with.
The L word was mentioned. It wasn't used, but it was mentioned. As soon as it was mentioned, I started feeling really weird. This morning, I was able to put my finger on how I was feeling. I was scared. I'm one of those people that attaches a very significant amount of emotion to that word, and I don't use it lightly. In fact, I try not to use it at all, if there is another word that I can use. I'm freaked out that there is even the slightest possibility that I might feel that much again, but I feel like my definition of it has been smudged and twisted to justify using it in my last relationship. Now I'm just confused as to what it means to me.
What does it mean to all of you?

the l word, used to mean something to me but seems its a worthless word to most people (read the ones ive been with) although i do hope one day i find someone who doesn't just throw it out for the hell of it.
but then thats me. and after some reading i found that the human body copes with pain of all variations just like touching the cooker even though we were told its hot, thus finding out otherwise. the body does the same for emotional stress, oh joy
On a side note. i want a cookie

*gives okashima cookie*
the L word is a special word that i think is often used too freely for my liking. To me it means something that is so strong that not even bad things that people do change that i love them. yes i get hurt, tired and dissapointed in the other people and wish they could/would change but that i can't do that for them. Out of family setting i also believe that if someone loves me they wouldn't try and change me in a forceful way or emotionally blackmail me if if i can't/won't, but instead will understand and accept me for who i am.

*Sees Miss Groves giving out cookies and wanders over, NOMs Miss Groves' head* *NOMNOMNOM*
For me, the L word is used for people I love. Unreservedly. Of course, it's hard for me to get to that point sometimes... Not always though. I wish I could be more coherent, but in the end, I love who I love. It really just kinda happens....

Ooh cookies. You don't just have to love one person, you love the people who are your friends no matter the depth of your relationship.
