I have looked over the forums a bit and havent found anything so I thought I would post here for help. I am fairly heavyly pierced with several large gauge holes in my ears and I was thinking of jewelry that i could wear to have more of a steampunk feel with out resorting to just putting some gears in my lobes anyone else run into this or have any ideas?

There have been a few threads about this actually, but yeah because one can't use brass in body piercings it becomes a little tricky. These wood ones would look cool with a brass gear or something in the center: There are some with watch movements in them too: http://www.arka-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Unusual-Ear-Plugs.htmlSo far these are the most interesting ones I have seen. My ears aren't stretched but I wear body piercing jewelry in them so I can always have earrings in. I usually use belly button piercing things but have been trying to do some experiments to get some that are more steampunk to match my everyday jewelry.

I would think one would need to keep the wood clean, but those would look classy with anything.

You can also get copper- and brass-look titanium. I've seen CBRs by Anatometal that fit the bill rather nicely.

I have 3/4" ears and I use varrious differnt wood & stone plugs, they look pretty good, though there are all kinds of cool looking "steamy" style plugs right now I am rocking a nice orange stone that looks like brass in my ears, I will have to take some photos when I get home but I have saw everything from nuts and bolts to caribeaners used in ears to create really stunning effects

I am not sure about international shipping for those of you across the pond but bodyartforms.com has a great selection of plugs and swirls in an assortment of cool, steamy materials for darn good rates. I do also remember in some of the midsize gauges (4-00 I think ((that is 5mm-10mm for the UK)) in a watch movement design. They have items that run in price from very cheap to 100s of dollars (I am dying for some of the fossil plugs in a 9/16 (14mm) but I cant swing $200 for a set of plugs!)

They ship through the regular post, (as well as UPS, your choice), and using the post is very reasonable. It's USD3.50 to send your order in an average-sized padded mail bag to Australia. I can't imagine it being very different to that to send it to the UK. Thair jewellery is also very reasonably priced (and for the stuff I've bought, it's about a quarter of what I pay for the same locally...), and they are very helpful.

glad to hear that they do well to other countries as well. I love BAF...they also send you all kinds of neat free stuff with every order (stickers, o-rings, gauge cards) I was actually just on the site and they have some super sweet cog plugs in two designs. (the dangling cogs are super cute!) the prices are steep on them since they are silver but if you have the money to spare they are rockin'

John, what is that in your profile pic? it looks like some pretty cool body mod and I for one would like to see a bigger pic of it.

Im a body piercer IRL and its the logo for Coheed and Cambria I did for a convention a while back. I haven't gotten together a steam punk charactor shot yet so I just used it for my basic profile pic. I like all the plugs posted on here so far and I really look forward to find something cool that will blend in with a steampunk charactor. I think my biggest challange will be finding something that will work for my cartilage piercings.

great job with the shapes and spacing! Is she keeping it long term or is it a play piercing?

I am almost certain this is temperaray, the location would not be the best for any perminant piercings, even corset pierings (if trying to keep perminant) have high percentile of problems, its also a matter of shear numbers with this, even if 1 or 2 of the piercings developed issues and had to be taken out it would mess with the design, but its a really cool temperary design

I am interested in the idea of permanent corseting with microdermals, but that is a lot of little pockets cut down my side!

I'm a huge fan of piercings, and indeed tattoos, and amazing designs like that even if only temporary just seem fantastic to me, I'd had a few ideas along similar lines myself for a backpiece made out of multiple microdermal piercings but this is the first time I've seen a picture of someone with such a thing actually done. The problem I have is despite being a huge fan I've not got any, can't figure out where I'd like piercings (or a good but simple design), and with tattoos I'm to worried I'd change my mind on the design straight after it was done, piercings are a tad easier to remove. Corset piercings have held my attention for years now, they do just stun me, it is a shame that they are if not 100% temporary then at the least very prone to problems caused by putting the piercings under pressure with the ties even if only a little, they are beautiful.

Ya as pretty much everyone has figured out we took them out after about 3 days. whenever I do a large project like that its for a convention or a show and they know going in its temporary. Im working on a large microdermal project but it gets expensive fast especially as im planning to use 70 or so. I'd like to do a 20 point microdermal corset sometime but I haven't found anyone who is down for it.
