Ladies, start your engines!

Lads: get out the strop and razor, for it is once again that time of year.

Movember. The month formerly known as November is when all around the world, men grow themselves a fine set of whiskers to aid the cause of men's health.

Like last year, I will be attempting the Full Edwardian Cavalry Officer's mustache, and I would encourage all you lads out there to do so as well. I will be happily posting my progress here, and look forward to the fun and frivolity.

The official website is here: Movember website

Ladies, you can get involved too - as a Mo Sista.

There is also, the ability to create Mo-growing teams. I didn't know if there would be enough interest, so I haven't done so. But if enough people respond, then I might well see about creating the Brass Goggles Movember Team, and we can compete (good naturedly) with other teams from around the world to earn more money for men's health issues.

The only difficulty is that it asks you to identify what region you are in: and I am in Australia. Still, I could lie, and register on another continent, so that we could all join together.

Anyway, there are only a few days to go before the Mo-Growing starts, so get involved!

Well I'd love to grow out my facial hairs.... but God didn't gift me with that ability. I have side burns and a goatee. But they aren't much as far as thickness. And I can't grow a mustache to save my life. But I'm trying to find ways to thicken up what I got. I hear that periodical trimming and cutting will help make it grow thicker. But I have no idea.

I shall try extra hard, and will not trim my moustache. Indeed, I'll even curl it.

Well, here we are one third of the way through the month.
How are we all doing, Gentlemen (and any hirsute ladies who may be joining us)?

Personally, I'm doing alright:

Absolutely no pressure, but if you felt like donating to the cause (this year Prostate Cancer and Depression) they you could do so by clicking on this stylish and elegantly crafted link:

Donate to 5tephe's Movember cause.

Well, I'm now three weeks in, and (if I say so myself) have quite the respectable set of mustachios!

As you can see, I've honed their shape: they were looking a little too 'fashioned' and 1970s, instead of 1890s.
Much better now, I believe.
