So many updates, so much to go over.  First off I would like to announce our next round of guests and presenters.  First we would like to introduce one of Steampunk's greatest icons, the ever so fantastic Evelyn Kriete.  Hailing from Chicago, we bring you fabled Steampunk Tales artist Miss Monster.  Amy Williamson of the League of Extraordinary Paranormal Women will dazzle and delight audiences with tales of the supernatural and the beyond.  Join us at our Charity Masquerade Ball with the enchanting musical talents of Harpnotic.  Outland Armour will guide you through workshops and wonders, while Frenchy and the Punk, AKA The Gypsy Nomads bring you a provocative and theatrical night of music and excitement.  And come witness the excitement and adventure that The Vagabonds bring for your very amusement.

Hailing from London, we bring you one of the greatest Steampunk bands that Great Britain has to offer, and often cannot contain, 'The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing'.  We are also proud to welcome our very special guest, Grave Robber himself, Terrance Zdunich, the co-creator of Repo! The Genetic Opera!

There are still many more groups and individuals that we have yet to announce, and that is not the half of it.  Many new events on the horizons, with more content being added constantly.  Have we mentioned that we have a new appearance?  We have just completed our brand new website, and we couldn't be more pleased.  So much content to bring to you, so much more that we have in store, just for you.

Along with our updated web presence, due to popular demand, pre-registration has been extended to the end of Friday, the 23rd, so you have two days left to get your advanced tickets for our 5-day exposition.  Much still on the horizon, including full details on many of our special events such as our Midnight Carnival, Repo Shadowcast, Victorian Swimsuit contest, and special movie screenings.  Its one amazing weekend that you won't want to miss.  Again, we look forward to meeting you, and your expectations.

Oh Detroit's Downriver... how I miss you so.

Alas, I shan't be able to attend. However I require that in my stead all those that are attending be certain to attain an ample supply of photographs to post, so that I might once again tread upon my old stomping grounds, vicariously of course.

I'm really quite excited for this. It's going to make an awesome road trip, even if it'll cost me quite a few dollars. I need an adventure!

And don't worry, Spencer, I'm a photography student so many pictures will be taken.

I'm asking simply everywhere I can - does anyone have space for a single person for one night (Friday to Saturday) ?

I'm willing to chip in and I won't take up much room and I can bring champagne and absinthe if desired (provided, you know, everyone who drinks may do so legally).  Smiley

Was planning on going, but just now realized it's on a weekend I'm running a show.  I can't get out of it this year.  Next year they'll just have to do without me.  Do have a fun time all, and many pictures are expected.

The schedule is now up.  It is currently separated by the different days, so don't miss the tabs at the bottom.  For everyone wondering, due to demand, Abney Park will be performing twice at the expo.  First on Saturday with an acoustic set, and then on Sunday during the big concert.

Think you've missed a deadline?  You're in luck.  We are still taking applications for the fashion show and Victorian swimsuit contest.  Applications can be obtained when you check in at the expo.  We also have a few slots still open for the Mad Science Fair.  If you still wish to display your marvelous contraptions, please send a detailed message to guywicker@gmail.com to reserve your place.  Under a week to go, still more to come.

Cheers.

Got an airship?  Need a crew?  Then have no fear, the ILA is here!  Come promote your ship, interview crew, and be a part of our job fair!  Join the International League of Airships as they host the world's first Airship Job Fair!

Talk with people about your ship and see if they have what it takes to be a part of your crew.  Talk with other ship captains and build lasting relations(or build new rivalries).  If you would like to have a part in the job fair, contact skymarshal@airshipleague.net to request a space or to get more details.

Well I've heard no reports of a large explosion, so the expo must have gone off without too much of a hitch.  Anyone care to clue us in as to how it went?

Well, there were a few scheduling glitches, but I had a lot of fun.

That's to be expected with any convention, much less a first one. Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself, because after all, that is the point.  Do let us know a bit more once you recover from the weekend.

From The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, thank you all so much for the amazing reception. Everyone, from the endearingly bewildered hotel staff to the security guys, hospitality people (especially Momma and Reighley), organisers and the weirdos, geeks and punks who made up the audiences, everyone was fucking amazing.

Thank you to everyone who came and chatted to us, shared a beer, bought a CD or a shirt, danced, moshed, sang along or in any way touched base with us.

We will back next year.

Many thanks to the staff of the con, and all the volunteers and participants who made the convention such fun.  There were small problems, but for the most part all went well.  I know how much work it all is.  My special thanks to all you folks who came to my four talks, including a not insubstantial group for the two on Monday, which I feared would be empty.  I hope I was able to educate and entertain.  My husband's pictures of the weekend are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/helix90/sets/72157624066015761/

On Saturday there was a huge Chinese trade delegation and signing at the hotel. Possibly 100+ attendees.

Fun, fun, fun.

I was, unfortunately, unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict. I do look forward to making sure no conflicts arise next year, however.

Greetings my friends one and all.  First and foremost, I would like to thank you one and all for making it out for our inaugural year and making it the smashing success that it was.  It is without further delay that I bring you word of our plans for our 2011 event.  Over May 27th through the 30th, we once again invite you to return to Dearborn, Michigan as we go into gear to bring you the Great Exhibition!

Join us again as we move forward to being you an event that will once again bring you adventure and excitement like no other.  Over the course of the next few weeks, you can expect to see many changes to our website from new guests to special features and announcements.  There is much that we have in store for you, and we hope to see you once again as we move forward and break a few more records.

A special thanks to everyone to everyone that we spoke with at Dragon*Con this past weekend in Atlanta, your encouragement, recommendations and kind words were most appreciated and taken to heart.  We look forward to seeing everyone, and once again meeting your expectations.

I pride myself on being one of the founding members of the only steampunk moshpit I have ever seen. Thank you to The Men for providing a stellar sound track and atmosphere, and for jumping in with the crowd (literally and metaphorically). The show you put on at the World Steam Expo was absolutely spectacular.

Last years event was certainly fantastic.  I know that the event planned for this year will be just as spectacular.

Just in case anyone is wondering...  Here is the web link for the event this year.  They are still working on it, but at leaset people can start registration.

http://www.worldsteamexpo.com/

I will be there as I was last year.  Maybe even make another appearance in my white kilt.

Hello and greetings again my friends.  Much has been happening behind the scenes and we still have much in store for you in the coming weeks leading up to the expo.  At this time we have 1 day remaining before pre-registration closes, so if you haven't booked your passage, now is the time.

http://www.worldsteamexpo.com/registration.php

We have much to announce in the immediate future.  From new guests, special features, as well as our full schedule, we have a lot more in store for you.  Once again we look forward to meeting you, and your expectations.

Its now that time my friends when all is revealed.  All of our guests are now listed on the website, and our events page has our full schedule ready for you day by day, hour by hour.  The hotel is packed and we've overflowed to 2 hotels(rooms still available at the Dearborn Doubletree).  Also we do have another announcement that we believe that you will enjoy.

The Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation is the first museum in the country to feature an exhibit solely dedicated to the steampunk movement. Steampunk, Form & Function offers an informational and interactive look into the world of steampunk and all that it encompasses including, fashion, literature, entertainment and much more. They are also bringing their steampunk exhibit to World Steam Expo 2011 to share with you! Come talk to the artisans, creators, and historians who are bringing their wondrous show on the road.

All this, our Midnight Carnival, the wondrous Merchant's Bazaar, High Tea, and more programming than you can handle throughout our 5 days of events.  Its going to be quite the show, and you won't want to miss out.
