i have recently come across a book called what  jane austen ate and charles dickens knew. it's basically a book about the facts of life in victorian england. i have not started reading yet, i have heard that it covers practically everything that could be done in victorian england.
it has exellent sections on food and drink, clothing, and much more. this should be a good book because it should explain how, if steampunks existed, they would have lived. Grin

If they existed?...Are you doubting my existance? I consider myself a 'steampunk' (as does just about everyone else on this forum)and I most definitely exist..as this post proves. I live quite well, thank you very much. I'm in full employment..reasonably healthy for a guy my age and have a long term partner whom I love very much and I'm very happy with life in general.

It's a great crash course/1800s for dummies book. Highly recommended.
