Antique Glasses

Got These Glasses from a friend of the Family, have to get new lenses made up, but otherwise they are perfect, the family friend i got them from was born in 1911, they are his fathers pair, Interesting thing is when the father came to America, from ireland he was sick and was to have have been sent back, so as soon as the ship got to america, he jumped off the ship in the Harbor and Swam to shore.

I like those, I love the workmanship on the nose guard? ( I have no idea what the correct term is) What type of lenses are you going to put in them?

As an early 18th century re-enactor, I have come across several suppliers of period glasses, probably the best company in the US is Jas Townsend.

They sell a range of period glasses Most of the glasses would probably be too early for Victorian, but THIS PAIR looks OK.

They also post to the United Kingdom.

I quite agree, I have purchased many an item from Jas Townsend. As it is @25 miles from my home, I actuall drive past their store on my way to work every day!. I love to stop in on occasion and just "browse". As well as their store, the Town  of Pierceton is known as "Antique Town" as there is 1/2 mile (3 city blocks) of mostly antique stores, I believe 14 of them. All this in a town with less than 700 residents...

I have just taken another look at the website.
I had overlooked THIS PAIR because they are headed as early nineteenth century,but the description puts them between 1830's and 1860's. they also come in a WIDE FITTING
