Oooo... a new company popped up on my radar this morning. They don't offer much yet, but it looks like they're relevant to our interests: http://hinterlandminiatures.weebly.com/products.html

One might think with the recently published steampunk novel, Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, some enterprising miniatures company would license his Clanker designs for tabletop play. Here's hoping !

Oh, wow! Those are great, Fidelius. I'm gonna have to recommend those next time someone asks about SP'ed Imperial Guard for 40K.

I know what I'm about to say would be considered the gravest heresy, but even though I kind of like the idea of tabletop games, the miniatures and such are just too damn expensive....
....Which is why my friends and I use LEGOS for our D&D/other table top gaming.... They come pre-painted, are easily customized/re-configured and cost WAY less (and that's saying something right there) than the die-cast stuff...
may i point you then towards a lego based wargaming system?along with a lego dungeoneering game?

see now I might get into lego stuff. I don't sit a tables with others and game much anymore, but the ability to custom stuff, especially stuff I don't have to buy lot of specialised expensive parts for, appeals to me.
I remember a while back I was making custom starwars lego droids, and aliens. Wonder where all my models and plans went? hmm *scrounges*

This was very fun to play and maybe a little closer to Steampunk. http://www.io.com/~sj/PirateGame.htmlMaybe if cutters were replaced with Monitors, it'd be on topic ?

All these models are fantastic, but I must admit the idea of painting them to high standard seems bit daunting like those Smog models.
Has any one tried a more stylized approach or even painting in just monochrome ?
Ive been trying to find 45 mm models in cyberpunk genre myself , esp something that draws parallels to popular fairy tales or the whole Alice In Wonderland / American McGee .

If anyone is at Salute next weekend, look out for the 28mm Victorian Science Fiction game run by Oshiro Modelterrain. I'll be there, undertaking the dual task of trying to make sure the GASLIGHT rules run smoothly and ensuring that my French force doesn't disgrace itself. Ashk for Bullshott (my wargames identity). Superb terrain and lots of heavier-than-air vessels will predominate!

Engineer; I will be at Salute and would like to also point you in the direction of West Wind Games new release "Empire of the Dead" . Steampunk, Victoriana and Zombies.
Oh and never fear I will politely make myself know.

My, she's got a big one!
Argus, what scale is she? I'm modelling 1/36th so if the model is about 50mm tall, she'll fit right in. I see there is also a Steampunk Tinkerbell.

Steampunk Dorothy isn't likely to have any difficulty dealing with the flying monkeys is she?

Steampunk Dorothy is 32mm (I must confess I didn't realise quite how small she was). She comes in three parts including the base. The gun and part of her arm need to be glued on. The detail is excellent, but a steady hand, a good eye and a very small brush are definitely required.

Thanks Argus! Too small for me, I know my limits! Shame, it's a nice piece. Modelling in 1/35 ~ 1/36 has plenty of military (male) models but very few female figures. Prieser have a number of 1/43 female figures but they are a bit small, so only suitable for the more diminuitive. Oh well, back to the drawing board...

This weekend I was part of the team running a very successful Victorian Science Fiction demonstration game at the Salute wargames show. Here is a picture of it, taken by a member of the Lead Adventures forum that I frequent under another alias:

It was indeed! It this was the first time we had tried to field so many flyers (five in play) and also the first of an occasional series of games set on the new Mars terrain boards (the table would have been even bigger and more spectacular, but one of the canal sections had a bit of an accident before the show).
