What is everyone else wearing to all the upcoming balls etc?

yours Lady Elsie.

Should I be invited to any social occasions I have recently purchased a black full length skirt which is liberally studded with black sequins (Laura Ashley my dears no tat) from a local charitable emporium.
Teamed with a black velveteen frock coat I should think it will see me through the season

I think I've found a perfect dres for the Soiree. Its got a black velvet bodice to with rope ties at the front and a red and black thin striped full skirt. If I pleat  up the skirt to give it body and twin it with some long black gloves and mini top hat I might not have to buy anything other then some new boots Cheesy

Sounds fantabulosa  Grin
Its really rather nice
Well according to the label it is from Monsoon's Twilight range. I'll post a pic of it

We have a ball to attend next weekend and I am in desperate need of a top to go with one of the two full length skirts I already have.  This weekend will be a mad search for one either new or that can be easily modified and embellished.

Dear RoseOak - I always thought I was the only one to say "fantabulous"  and here I find you say something similar.  Quite wonderful  Cheesy

So many fab outfits It would be nice to see some photos of us dressed up for our social occasions.

I love planning and putting together outfits.

To nights outfit is for a belly dance party/Hafla. So I will be wearing a decorated bra over a black sparkly cami top. On the lower half a bustle over lace tights. A shrug in faux leather will finish it off.

~sigh~ yes I lost my balance getting off the bus and I felt very embarrassed. Considering how small the heels on my boots are, I find it easy to fall off the floor these days! Can barely walk along in my New Rocks without twisting my ankle!

That doesn't sound good at all. Are you unbalanced in flats or is it just heels that are giving you gyp

Weirdly for me its not the height of the heel (although the THICKNESS is a factor) but whether its a shoe or boot. I feel 100 times more at ease in a boot, but in a shoe, I always feel nervous. Strange, huh? Or am I not the only one?

Lack of upper foot pressure maybe. I find that a lot of my heeled shoes have a toe covering and not much else whilst boots cover all your  foot.

Very nice shoes. I am glad to see not every one is wearing brown. As one of our colonial cousins said ' steam punks are goths who have found brown'

I like a bit of colour we are not living in a sepia world.

Please pass the ice, my drink needs refreshing.

What other colours do you wear? Discuss...

Here you go m'dear

Well I tend to steer clear of green as it makes me look yucky and although orange is my favourite colour  I'd probably never wear it unless it was halloween. Apart from that I'll wear anything. Oh and not too much pink. I'm not tall enough to carry it off

wait, one has to be tall to pull off pink?  I am tall, and I do not think i could pull off pink...mostly because I am not fond of it.

I adore green and look fantastic in it (and other jewel tones).  White makes me look like I have jaundice, since i'm pale w/ a touch of olive in my skin tone.  I have a great purply "leather" jacket that I wear to steam it up.  I also wear a lot of black...

My next steamy outfit will incorporate one of my two-layer silk skirts (two can be seen in these pics:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
neither of which is (only) brown. Smiley

well I'm small, blond and curvy so I feel like I'm trying to pull off Sweet Lolita without much success. I love the green but it just isn't very fond of me.  I need a new coat/jacket
