I'm here! I am desperately trying to find a way to curl or even wave my naturally poker straight hair, but it isn't going well. Even smothered in product, heated to ridicluous temperatures and teased within an inch of its life, it still collapses into perfectly straight locks. I cannot win.

I feel like going to a salon and saying "if you can curl my hair, I will pay double".

Speaking as one with naturally poker straight hair I found curling mine in papers to be effective ( if not particularly long lasting unless sprayed rigid with hair lacquer).
Ma still curls hers with victorian curling tongs that she heats up on the gas ring !

I too have been absent for longer than I would wish - and a small glass of the Macallan would go down nicely with a slice of cold haggis thank you !

I keep trying to be useful and failing spectacularly. I think it's something to do with being in an area that is mostly pine and granite.

What's wrong with pine and granite? Where I live there's trees and rocks everywhere, even downtown!

going to a wedding this evening and i am SO getting my steampunk on. it's a couple friends of ours, and our entire circle of friends will likely be there, so there will probably be a bit of steampunk and certainly plenty of high goth. the family might stare but we'll stare right back.  Wink Huh

I don't hold out much hope for the forthcoming motion picture of Alice's adventures in Wonderland, but Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter should be hard to beat.
