*Bursts out of the secret passageway from the smoking lounge, firing an elephant gun indiscriminantly at a small bug that had entered the room only moments before.*

*poking head through the passageway*

dear heart, stop that! it's one thing in the gentleman's club; i've taken great pains to make certain the floors won't be permanently damaged, but you can't just blast away at all the bugs! they'll never have you back and they'll end up sealing off that damned passage - what would you do for fun, then?

now kindly tidy up this mess and come home before you cause a fuss, will you? perhaps i can find you something to blow up then...

*slips back through the passage*

In all reality, "steampunk" is anachronistic, innit? Otherwise it's just Victorian dress-up.

chain smokin', sleep needin', apparel designin', mohawk havin', tea drinkin', steady cursin', boy charmin', card readin' rabble-rouser and amusement park cleverly disguised as a woman

Christ almighty! *jumping on the sofa* I'm going back to the gentlemen's smoking room, at least it's quieter in there....

Perhaps I shouldn't say it. But there have been times when I've been tempted to smoke a gentleman or two.

I have a perfect match, thank you. Did you mean a small incendiary device?

Ladies (& Gents...)  I probably won't be around to post for a while... I'll check in every now and then for my pm's and maybe to lurk for a little... but things have gotten ... uhm, difficult here.  So, steam on, my friends!   Smiley

*wanders in with a rolled-up poster*

I brought you ladies a gift!  It's a souvenir of our trip. I..erm...stole it from the Realtors' lair...

*unrolls a panoramic picture of the Mountains of Madness*

And I'll gladly pay for you to have it framed in the style of your choosing, if you wish.

*looks at the bleak landscape* That will go perfectly with the hookah, but I've no idea about the frame.

See, if there's one thing I've learned about myself over the...years...it's that I just don't understand interior decorating.  So I left it up to you, how (or if) you wanted to display it.

*standing back and looking*

Hm. It could go over the couch, that's the only wall with enough room for it. I'm thinking an aquatic influenced frame, but that's just me. I can't make a decision without the other ladies present. But, we do appreciate the gesture. ^_^

Stay for tea, gin, or both?

How about instead of screwing up your courage you just reinforce it? *hands a cup of tea and a flask of gin*

Thanks.  I think I'll do just that.

Last time I smashed that vehicle into a big ol' tree this one-eyed man came along, and yelled at me about shaking the Runes loose.  I seemed to have disturbed him at his meditations.  He was somewhat placated when I left two hams where one had been hanging before...

At least this time I just disturbed the squirrels, and none of these were the kind that talk...

As long as he was placated. *takes a sip of tea* Those talking squirrels...they are a pain. Just the other day I had one say that my hat was on crooked. I stepped on the cheeky little blighter's tail in retaliation.

Then you know what they did? They started throwing acorns at me. I can't walk down that street again.

Doctor, I must say I love reading that you are happier and stuff, it makes me smile to think you are smiling!

I have now written over 10,000 words on my dissertation, so after I have finished writing up my close readings of Poe, and added some more theory, it should be ready for a tidy up, and then....THEN.....IT WILL BE FINISHED! Cheesy

I'm back and to such happy news.  Congratulations Darkshines!  Keep at it and let us know when you have finished.

Did he have a single leg, and a single arm also?

I suspect he had two arms and two legs, as well as two pet ravens and an eight-legged horse.
