I think a deep rich brown would contrast the bits nicely. The only thing on it i don;t like so much is how shiny the rubber tube is, it distracts from the aged feel the final piece will convey.

Otherwise it looks great!

Thanks Smiley

ya, the whole piece will look rustic after its finished.
I was thinking a dark brown/mahogany maybe.

Thanks for your input!

Very nice, though perhaps you can take some (very) fine sandpaper and gently run it along that black tube? It seems a bit too shiny, and a quick swipe with sandpaper would quickly take away quite a bit of the shininess and make the tube fit more with the rest.

Also, might I inquire as to how long the cuff is? Unless I'm mistaken it looks like it would cover the entire forearm from wrist to elbow...

Ya, the whole cuff will be dyed and painted (including the hose, so it wont be shinny)

The cuff looks so long because there is a back of the hand piece. The actual cuff is about 8" long with the 2" hand guard...

Ah, that explains why the cuff did look a bit long. Good thinking with just painting the hose, I personally would have wiped it with some sandpaper, heh. Can't wait to see the finished product, and I dearly wish I did have some extra money laying around to purchase some of the stuff you make!

It will all come together and make sense after its done.

Thanks for your input! I appreciate it when people point out, could be, flaws. Sometimes i bypass them.... Tongue

I shall try not to make a habit of posts such as this, as they don't really contribute much...

...but I simply LOVE your work. This is coming together wonderfully and I anxiously await the finished product, even if I can only afford to look at it and drool.  Tongue
