Callahan's Place- if you don't know it I pity you.
Pern- might be intresting and hasn't been mentioned.
Whateley Academy story universe- you probably won't know it, it's a net fiction collaborative universe, with a smattering of influances from Hogwarts, comic books and movies, with anime, and a bit of ranma 1/2 feel to many of the characters.

It would only be fun if you were a Spark. The average folks tend to get trod on a lot. Consider the day to day life of Moloch VonZinzer or Higgs. Otherwise, I'm totally with you on that one.
