I'm working on pulling together an outfit for the local conventions this year (Tesla Con, No Brand Con ect.). I'm going as a Condittieri Commander, only slightly inspired by the game Rise of Legends..... I'm currently trying to gather my dwindeling funds together so I can buy some light rennissance era armor, and I already have a fitting pair of goggles for it. However I was just wondering if any of the fine ladies or gentelmen here would have any ideas or sujestions.

Some introduction to what such a creature is, for the uninitiated such as myself, may assist in your endeavours.

I apologize, I have a bad tendency to assume people know things that they don't. The condottieri were groups of mercenaries that roamed between the Italian city-states from about the late 14th century and surviving all the way into the Victorian times. One of my biggest influences for chooseing this as a costume (oh how I loath that word), is the concept art for the game Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, which features the condottieri as a fairly steamy faction. The concept art I'm looming at is here:

Sir John Hawkwood with steam assisted armour? sounds a great idea but a bit pricey for you if you dont have much armour/kit you can decorate for the right effect.

Ooh, I was playing that not too long ago, and found myself wishing I had the money for armor like that...

You're using the wrong link. You need to use the one ending in .jpg

Thank you akumabito!!! I have a breast plate in mind and also a pair of boots, however they aren't nesisairly exactly what is described in the art, but I've decided that I'll take my own spin on the concept.

The breast plate:

Those Vinci Riflemen look great! I can't wait to see your finished outfit, keep us posted with pics as you go. In fact, it's inspired me to do a bit of armour plating too!
