I like that a lot. I've taken an interest in leatherworking lately due to a project of my own, and it's great to see pieces made by people who know what they're doing to draw inspiration from.
Very nice indeed. One question - is the glove part of it or is it seperate?
Also, would it be possible to get a picture of the inside to give an idea of how it's assembled?

Nice job. Not only a great design but looks well made and well finished. Thanks for posting it. I agree I would love to see more on your construction methods on such a nice piece.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Unfortunately the item's already been sent to the client so I can't take any further photos of it I'm afraid, however, it's basically a full-sized quilted leather piece with a smaller tooled leather section which includes the pouch riveted to the top. The glove is a separate piece.
I've also made a matching one with a knife attached so I'll dig out the photos for that one too and post one later.
You'll find more examples of my leatherwork on either my website or on my Facebook Creations page if you're interested.

This is the second vambrace of the pair - the oriental dagger is a LARP-safe throwing dagger:

I'm also thinking it could be interesting to combine the vambrace idea with one of my Fenwick Temporal Chronometers: (more examples of these can be found on the 'Chronautomata' board)

Stop it, you're making me drool... I wonder if we could prevail on you for perhaps a short tutorial on how such things are made? The basics of a vambrace I understand, but you're obviously a leatherworker with no shortage of skill and it would be fantastic to get some tips and tricks from someone who clearly knows his stuff.

Whilst I'd love to be able to give tutorials, unfortunately since Mark Cordory Creations is my sole form of employment, if I give away too many of my techniques and trade secrets I'd be kind of shooting myself in the foot I'm afraid. Sorry Obviously that's not to say that such things aren't freely available online if you search for them, but I just can't really justify creating my own potential business competition - I'm sure you understand?

would you be willing to share what shade of stain/dye that is on those bracers? Its a nice red brown and I like that.

Sure - it's British Tan for the lighter sections and Medium Brown for the background - I then airbrushed Dark Brown for extra shading.

Really? Seems a lot - I've seen them over here in the pound shops on occasion. Admittedly they'd be crap quality but still.
I have two fairly decent ones and I paid less than $50 for both together.

hmm maybe the ones I'm seeing are just larger ones. Should look for smaller one or something I guess.

Ideally you need a dual action airbrush for shading and detail work - I use a Badger airbrush, not cheap, but you get what you pay for and the really cheap ones are basically only useful for very broad work. http://www.badgerairbrush.com/Badger_150.asp
