Hmmm.. must say I was astounded at the number of SteamPunk bands on your site, really blew me away. As for getting it out to the masses there may be something to look at. There's a site started here in Australia called Guvera, it's goal is to provide free music while at the same time ensuring the artists get paid. Basically what happens is that you search for songs you're interested in and you'll get a list of advertisers who have that song available, you select the one you want and are taken to the advertisers page on Guvera where you can download the song, look at the advertising material on the page and also brows other songs that advertiser has available. I'm not sure how you would get the artists on the site or if it's something you're interested in pursuing... just thought that I'd let you know about it.

I'm still slapping myself for forgetting to mention Gilded Age Records when someone asked for examples of Steampunk music a few weeks ago! Absolutely astonishing and wonderful bunch of musicians - between Gilded Age and Sepiachord and listening to The Clockwork Cabart, there's more Steampunk music about that I can sensibly find time to listen to..
I'd love to see Gilded Age and Sepiachord artists available from Rhythmbox ( a music player in Linux), showing up like Jamendo, Magnatune and the Ubuntu One music store do...

Ok, even more new additions to the GAR family (giving us a grand total of 47 artists)! Escape the Clouds Alexandra Hamer Mr. Maxwell Tom Slatter And finally one of the forerunners of Steampunk influenced music will be joining our ranks shortly, none other than Mr. Thomas Truax!

Hi Kind of new to steampunk, and never set out to be a steampunk band, got labelled presumably due to our Stage gear, but loving it and embracing it, learning more all the time. How do we get involved in Gilded Age ? Cheers Dale (BB BlackDog)

I've started playing guitar and bass, but I must say you've inspired me to attempt to take up the violin. Now to earn said violin....

We are doing a complete re-haul of the website, and it should be going public next month. It will include tour dates, a blog, and various community features.

Just out of interest, is there any reason that some of your bands arn't on emusic whilst most are? I ask partly becase I have one of the higher plans on emusic so download an awful lot from there, consiquently rarely bothering with more expensive laternatives like itunes and amazon and so on.

Thank you for your kind words We shot him getting off 4 times to get angles, and he fell the last time, purely by accident, We just had to use that one, only a very slight graze to ego and arm, he was back on his guard duties within the hour. Rest assured no BlackDogs were harmed in the making of this video.

Good work on collecting all this good music in one place! Lovely to see Tom Slatter on there - we performed with him at The Kew Bridge Steam Museum steampunk exhibition - and the astounding Thomas Truax - we're really looking forward to supporting him at The Asylum 2012. I just thought I'd post a little video up here for your perusal, if you haven't seen it before. We'd love to know how to become involved with Gilded Age.
Our own odd little website is due for an overhaul soon... www.bumpandthumper.com] www.bumpandthumper.com
