I am from Dillon, SC. I am up in Greenville area about twice a month and have family living in Asheville NC. I also head out to Atlanta once (sometimes twice) a year to visit people there as well. To me, Dillon is my home and the rest of the state is my backyard.

I am also new to this thread and this forum, and I currently reside in Raleigh, North Carolina, though I spend a great deal of time in Atlanta where I resided previously. I would love to form some sort of steampunk gathering in my area, and have considered hosting a photoshoot, provided one or two of my photographer friends would be willing to participate. If there's enough interest, perhaps I shall start scouting locations soon.

Justin, are you by chance a fan of Dinosaur Comics as well? As far as conventions go, I certainly would not object to meeting anyone who shares my love of the Victorian. Assuming that everyone is over 21 I purpose we meet at Lili Marlene's World War I Aviators Pub in Seville Quarter for cigars and pints. --John

Wow, a couple of people from Tampa. I'm in Fort Myers... just 2 hours to the south. Best part is, sometimes I'm up in Tampa for business.
EDIT: Think it might be a good idea to plan a SP gettogether at Dragon*con or something. I don't know if I can go this next time, but just a thought.

I reside in the fine Capital of the Republic of West Florida known as Pensacola. (So it was only a republic for a few months I'm still calling it as such)

I had no idea there were so many steampunks in the south east. I figured that there were just a few of us, though I suppose it does make sense that there would be more than just two or three... Right now, I'm living in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Outside of my group of friends, there doesn't seem to be many people interested in steapunk, or any "alternative" subcultures/fashions/etc in town.

Louisiana here. I'd love to do a meetup, but out-of-state travel is not an option just yet for me.

I could do out of state travel, I'd just need a couple month's worth of advanced notice.

The only out of state travel I could do would be going down to Georgia, at the farthest Atlanta, and I'm not sure how often I could do that. I could probably do it for a convention, though. Oh, the woes of being a carless minor.

We always used to carpool with several other people that were going to the same event. It would be nice to have some sort of Steampunk event here in the South East. Anybody out there with outstanding organization skills want to try?

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I do have excellent organizational skills. I'd be willing to give it a shot, I guess. If enough people are interested, that is.

A Steam punk event would be excellent basing it in the South East I would think perhaps Northern Alabama would provide the most central location. Just thinking outloud for anyone wanting to try and arrange something.

I'm up for it, maybe. I'm in school so during break would be great. Thanksgiving, Christmas, or summer. Anything past Florida (to the east) is probably too far, but why don't we find the closest average location for everybody?

Based in Knoxville TN here. We make it to a number of events ranging from one hour to 6 hours or more away. We'd love to add another trip to our itinerary, all in good fun!

I'd be up for some sort of meeting if I had enough prior notice.

Bah! Have it in Atlanta! It's the biggest city, and I wouldn't have to figure out a ride. All signs point to yes!
