It'll be wakey-wakey time in the RL AM before I try to make malc do anything other than sleep and wait for the APC to pressure up. I thought about describing the entire heat-and-steam-reclamation process as well, so that it wouid be apparent why Molly was able to go such a huge distance at high speed without restocking her bunker, or refilling her tank, but figured that woudl just be TMI for small purpose.

Massive Edit Notice:
I went ahead and wrote in Conlan unhooking the steam armor, and letting Malc hook up the APC as a rear loco, with mechanical coupling, brake couplings (steam/air line), and electrical harness (like a great big horse trailer. Sort of), then Malc and Skinner backing the rig out, and then both Conlan and Malc re-coupling the armor to the APC, Malc is now talking to Royce to find out what his duties are, other than driving "locomotive"Molly or manning her weapons.

If any of it is not what would have been wished, please inform me, and tell me how you would like it to be fixed...

Oh, yes, speaking of that Steam Armour...

Brizzle has got it's hackles up with the flair ups between Anglia and Cornwall. While remaining Neutral, they are very, very wary of anything suspicious. And THAT is suspicious.

Once they can all prove themselves to be of good character, they will be allowed to keep what they have found, and perhaps applaud them for coming away mostly unscathed. After all, the Isle of White/Wight was unclaimed turf before the Anglians got to it, so they are still under the "Finders Keepers" act of AE 1.

I just thought I'd throw a plot-development spanner in the literary works... It's only a little one!

What sort of proof(s) is/are needed, to show that one is of good character? Would Malc's *ahem* familial ties be of any use?

Seriously, one of teh locals is about to recognize Malc, and his practice of not killing prisoners (unless they make it necessary) will hopefully work in his and the rig crew's favor...

Everybody, I apologize for not posting until just now; I have been at the Bayou City Old Time Music and Dulcimer Festival. (think local hillbilly/celtic/contredance/banjo/etc. music festival)

I will be gone for most of the day tomorrow as well. This should not keep me from posting; I'll just have to do it at latenight or wee hours of the morning. Like now, lol.

Malc's ancestry is affecting his conscience. The ties are somewhat tenuous, but some ancestor at some point was ennobled, so his claim is somewhat valid;  In any case, he can't make himself leave behind a child that he believes to be of royal descent.

MASSIVE EDIT WARNING:
It occurs to me that by going back to help Royce, Malc will negate whatever sacrifice Royce might hav emade, becaus ehe will likely be killed, amnd nobody else knows how to drive the tank. true, skinner or one of the others could probably figure it out, but they coul dalso blow themselves to smithereens by pulling the cannon levers by mistake while still in the garage, or drop a match or something in amongst the ammo; also, it's sort of doubtful that anybody could run aropund as much as Malc would have to be doing to get back to royce, without dropping dead of exhaustion at some point. Thus, I feel it best to edit that post and make him stay with the group after running straight through the Anglians attacking them,

Hold on a minute. What the hell is going on?!

The Anglians have caught up with the 7-7-; their force is a small one, sent to retrieve Dear and take her back to the commander of the Anglian forces. Royce has charged Skinner with getting the crew back to the 7-7 while he "takes the long way"(stays behind and draws off the Anglian military).

Malc does similarly but disposes of his attackers (fewer than royce's), and then attacks the force that is following and engaging Skinner's party (basically dashes through the Anglians like a one-man cavalry detachment ,killing many of that knot of Anglians in the process, and also using up all of his loaded ammo(both guns are now empty, but he has plenty of ammo for them; it's just not a convenient time to reload just yet - plus teh peppermill , although big-bore, is still just a muzzleloader, and he doesnt have his powder-and-ball kit with him, having left the musket in the APC. He decides to stay with Skinner's bunch, having a vague intention of unhooking from the rig and coming back to royce's aid, (though i havent actually written that yet). Malc's main and rather grandiose motivation at the moment is to get Dear to safety  (he's conflicted. He doesnt believe in leaving comrades behind, but circumstances seem to leave him no choice).

There's also the fact that its not as simple as it appears to be to fire Molly up; trying to steal Malc's tank (or trying to move it without him there) would be a very life-threatening idea -- thus he cant really go and stand with Royce, because he'd be damning the others to a fire-and-steam - y death...

In other news; apparently, Red and the Boars have yet to show up.

(and, although i am typing this now, I will very shortly be gone to a local Old time Music festival til about the same time as I posted last night/earlier this AM. I'm taking my time leaving for said festival because Houston's weekend cross-town traffic can be deadly--everybody says that , of course, but it's documentedly true here; many of our residents still carry guns, the local edicts notwithstanding).

Of course, if need be I'll change whatever part of my posting you all want me to change.
