Hmm, just in case any of the ladies got attracted to Royce...though that is looking less and less like a concern. I'll have plenty more surprises that'll pop up. The wiki may prove some clues as to what I plot - some things there I have no plan for yet...some, like with the Luddites, I do. Oh and Skinner, feel free to add anything to the Brizzle Atrium bit that you like - it's one that I haven't got a clear idea of quite yet.

I promise I'll only take out one lady. While I'm SURE Skinner wouldn't mind being a polygamist, I'll restrain her that much.
It's much safer to think of her as a guy rather than a girl. That way you don't catch yourself thinking "That's two down and one left!" which isn't all that accurate.
As for Brizzle- since it was originally a port town, though now the river Severn has long since dried up, it will be slightly raised- or appear so as you enter it from the riverbed slightly beneath. It's up and coming, I imagine, and rivaling Brum in terms of size, but because it isn't as central as Brum it won't ever be quite as big and rich. It's more towards the working classes, too, and a hive for the black market.
One enters Brizzle from underneath- you go down a slight slope onto the river bed just "upstream" of Brizzle, then turn into the gaping dock- all that's left of Avonmouth port. It's massive, with a high ceiling and two levels; the upper level being for Airships. The doors are shut up at night, and no travel is permitted until dawn. For that reason it's got practically more Inns than houses. There's also lots of markets, pubs, and of course, the odd brothel or opium house. It is the haven of all those traveling southernward.
Something like that?
Skinner's first stop will probably be her family home; a ramshackle three story terrace right on the "harbour" front. Where she'll reunite with her Mother, Father, and nine siblings- six biological, three adopted orphans. I imagine only the younger ones will be there, the orphans and the twins, Anna Belle and April May.

I don't think she'll find him. At least, not until they stop. He's quite well ensconsed amongst the moving machinery beneath the actual living quarters. And as for a character bio, I'm not sure what the deal with him will be. Runaway? Sabotuer? Theif? Any ideas for what would work with the story?

Hmm. Good ideas. If he's a runaway, what it he running from? And why didn't he confront the crew then? And how is he such a good shot with the pistol and so skilled at hiding? If he's a saboteur - why is he targeting the 7-7? Is there someone on board he wants to kill. If he's a thief, does he intended to nab things while the crew is occupied, or wait and grab the treasure at the end?

I'm going to be pretty absent for a bit, am going off to Greece to work. Will find myself a computer when I can!
I was thinking that in Brizle Red might just find another suggestion that his parents weren't killed in the event after all. Dun't know how fast we'll be leaving the Atrium again but if you need to move him around a bit feel free!

Haha! Brilliant. I may buckle as well and have to friend her... don't be alarmed when the rather shady character tries to friend her.

I couldn't use facebook if it was for my own self... I just don't think I could degrade myself like that.
But a character page is rather useful for remembering details, actually!

Haha, we never agreed on one... far enough back that the Atriums and nations have been able to be established, but close enough that it's apparently still in a few peoples memories... I'd say from the tech it's probably the latter half of the 19th century rather than the earlier.

I was careful not to say too much about when the event was, in regards to Skinner's childhood memories. When she talks about england once being green, she might be saying it from her own memories of the countryside, or from the tales her father might have told her. She may have never seen a green England, or she may have.
One way or another, somehow, she crossed the atlantic. Even I'm not sure how. Still, one has to keep their secrets...

One must remember a black knight is nothing without his black brew.
I'd like to do something to Advance Conlan's character, though I'm not sure what. Any suggestions?

Not sure I like that she'd drop his head back on the steps... I mean, she's angry, but she's not a total bitch.
Plus, Royce is there, she's just helping him carry Conlan... She wouldn't want to get in trouble for smacking his head after all that kerfuffle.
