And onto our next order of business...

... getting the Club up to the 100 page mark.  And thence moving to larger premises.

Larger premises . . . hmmmmm . . . larger tables . . . softer leather chairs . . . maybe a little cleaner . . . maybe a new barman (George, I believe, is 107 years old and his pegleg has slowed him down a good deal in the last few years.)

So, I wonder if we might not consider a new design for The Smoking Room.

The way we are now:

The way we could be:

Or perhaps we could refurbish the wood and leather and, well, I don't know . . . I look forward to any ideas you would have for The Smoking Room.

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

Well, he rather likes you too, Mr Harrison...

Exactly.

I rather liked the Smoking Room / Bar at The National Liberal Club.

I also liked the other virtual tours on their website. Some very nice facilities.

Also, the Club Area at the Garrick Club is quite up to snuff. Nice art.

Now, as to funds for the renovations, I can gladly pledge a goodly amount . . . once the lithium deposits in my Bolivian mine pay off.

The Squire staggers in, reeling about, drunk as Noah's goat. Heads for the bar, but trips and goes headfirst into the pickled eggs and  upsets all the drinks , drenching Mr. Bailey, Mr. Harrison, Mr. Pennypacker, and Professor Oilcan. Herr Doktor is quick enough to grab his drink and step back several paces.

"Zheorzh, my good fellow," slurs the inebriate, "gimme a glass of your strongest black tea and a shot of gin! I've just had the most frightful run-in with a libation from the Republic of Mexico! Mescal, I believe they called it! Quick, the tea!"

Just thought I would drop in on my way to the cricket for a sniffter. I must say the new club looks splendid! The paint is still drying, the games room has 12 snooker tables with 8 pool tables too, a room for poker and a room that was locked, the steward told me I'm not allowed to go in there until we move in, it appears that keys will not be issued until we get to 100, he did mention dancing girls but I'm not sure if he was playing some sort of Steward joke. Ahh my drink has arrived cheers everyone and heres to 100 and the move to our bigger club in just 3 more posts!
