Merely a habit to stave off boredom. I can stop it any time I like.

What have we here? A gathering? Any space around the fire for a weary traveller of life's dusty roads?

Indeed there is Sir!  *shuffles his chair ever so slightly so as to make space for Gentleman-Adventurer*

How far have you travelled to join our fine little group?
Logged

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

'Bout ten minutes  Smiley. I was a few rooms over, in the reading-lounge.

Indeed; 'tis 12 minutes past 7 in the evening.  We run on Greenwich Meridian Time, don't you know  Wink

And as it is well after noon, I believe I'll take a rum-based beverage... Bar keep!  A dram of Royal Oak, if you please.

Since you are already up, could I trouble you for a single malt?
A 34 year Bunnahabhain would be great.

It appears that the pool draining has proceeded apace and is nearly complete, what does the management intend with the available space?

If the management would help with the upkeep it would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of garden? Roses? A maze? What?

Indeed!
A topiary would be very in keeping with the Victorian aesthetic.

An Englishman who drinks bourbon? And with ice no less. Now I have seen it all.

May I suggest a taxus for the garden? They are very beautiful trees and do not drop leaves all over the place.

Green is a color. And the seeds are surrounded by a bright red arillus.

Beggin' your pardon for the delayed reply, but I was staring wistfully out of the window, in remembrance of sights seen and sounds heard...The chattering of birds, the grinding of ancient stone, the whistle of fresh coffee brewing. Ah, me.

Yes, now put your feet up, and should you will it, I'll tell ye a tale...
