With this weekend having appeared to have fallen-througn, I made alternative plans that involved gtaking part in a re-enatment event. However, since the event is just off the M40/M25 junction, I plan to skip out early on Sunday morning and brave the M25 to get to Crossness.

Sensibly, I don't expect to get to Crossness before late morning (11am at the earliest). What time is anyone else intending to get to the Steaming?

And is anyone actually still planning to go to the science museum? I mean, I'll probably go regardless, because I love it there, but whether anyone else comes dictates whether I steam up or go in jeans!

I've booked the weekend off anyway, so I shall be in attendance for whatever happens to happen, and will almost certainly be in jeans and casual.

Just, someone remind me... which Science museum is this?

I'll be in half of my steamery, my more western look which allows me to wear jeans, my hat, coat and a button down plaid shirt of some sort.

Close enough =P

Luckily I will be staying over in London on Saturday night, but with the way my trains go I'd rather not take the trip to Crossness, I might just toddle around capital for an hour or two and then head home on Sunday.

But that means a grand oppertunity for a good night out on Saturday! Huzzah!

I'm still planning to get over to Crossness on the Sunday for late morning. Is anyone else coming? It would be nice if any of us goung could arrange a time to meet-up and do the steaming? I intend to be in low key steampunk attire (but could steam-up a bit more if anyone else is going to). Bearing in mind that this event is only just over a week away, please feel free to PM me as well as responding on this thread.

It has been impressed upon me that my fathers birthday is on the 23rd (or is it 24th) so I will be unable to make the Sunday as planned...

...the big one? Next to the Natural History museum?
Someone correct me, I don't understand London.

Given everyone else's responses, I may come at half-steam. However, my participation is looking shaky at the mo, so I'll get back to you.

Oh! That one!

One way or another I'll find my way there. Would have helped if my train didn't break down the last time I tried to get to the Natural History Museum... -grumblegrowl-

Looking forward to this! Going to be a little expensive for me with transit but otherwise at least I'm saving on accomodation.

Which reminds me, how much does the museum charge for entrance?

Entrance is free unless you go to one of the special exhibitions. One word of advice, all sharp objects will be confiscated- scissors, penknives, table knives, etc. And anything illegal "on the street" (lock knives longer than 1", any knives longer than 3") won't be returned.

Listen out for my laugh, I laugh loud....

No, really. I think we should congregate outside the museum, but slightly off to the side so as not to block the main thoroughfare. If it has steps, I'll be sitting there, and I'll be in a big beige trench coat, with matching hat, and peacock feathers.

Sounds very fetching, May even manage to get there myself... circumstances permitting.

RARGH.
Excuse my unladylike outburst, gentlefolk, but my mother and I will no longer be able to attend due to an unfortunate series of events. Sad
Still, we hope to meet many of you at the Asylum next month!

Alas, I am not there for saturday due to events beyond my control. However, I could be there tomorrow for the steaming, if all goes well. I'll update later today if this will be so.
