I also have unmentionable stories to terrify any wandering male, both the usual variety and a few more, um, unusual ones.
Please tell away; you have piqued my curiosity!

Terrification is good As a collective gender, we're listening.

Hate the stuff. I can't stand sweet things. Euch.
Also tea. Can't drink tea. Vile brown fluid. I find it bitter, with neither great body nor considerable substabce.

We've always permitted members of the fairer sex to join our societies. The invitation has always been there. Yours, pleased that you referred to him as a gentleman; Nick

Terrification is good As a collective gender, we're listening. Well, here goes. One involves me learning just how well blood can dye sun-faded denim. One involves a dog, a bathroom trash-can, and a very cute boy. One involves a snake, a bra, and a bicycle. And the best always involve security guards. (Do you know exactly what you can smuggle under an appropriately-placed bag of feminine utility supplies? No one, not even the women guards, will look past it.)

Good afternoon Ladies! Some of you may already be acquainted with me. My name is Mrs. Sullivan, pleased to make your acquaintance.
I say, is that fellow in the dress taking orders? I should like a cup of apricot tea and a lemon biscuit, there's a good chap.
Now, were we talking about unmentionables? I just ordered the most charming pair of beige silk knickers with French lace trim...

I would like some lemon biscuits also. And if you speak about "unmentionables", they are no longer "unmentionables".

Gentlemen are permitted as long as they are frocked, beautiful and also discussing things as we are, aha. No male trolls allowed.
My latest pair of steam unmentionables was a pair of vintage cream cotton, knee length bloomers from ebay. They fit like a glove....for the buttocks.....

Oh well then, as long as they are frocked et cetera that's alright then. Sadly, my unmentionables are still unmentionable as I have yet to find a reputable establishment to purchase them or have someone make them for me.

So when one is in her best fin de siecle victorian dress, where does one put ones necessaries? Things like an ipod, or a phone? putting it in ones bag seems inconvieniant, and one simply cannot wear a blazer all the time now the summer is here.....

Sadly being a "lady" seems to involve all sorts of inconveniences - a lack of pockets and high heels are only the start of it.
A reticule is the only answer I fear

A reticule is a fine choice, especially when attired in formal wear. For more casual everyday dress or excursions to the country, I find that a small basket with a handle (covered with a dainty cloth or lidded) will hold all necessaries.
Of course, a gentleman companion may be pressed into service to carry heavy or bulky items, and lacking a gentleman companion the services of a small minion may be obtained for a shilling or two.
While adventuring in the gold fields of California I employed a pack mule for such purposes, a trustworthy animal and far more agreeable than many gentlemen or small minions. Unfortunately, they are rather frowned upon in the tea parlours of Society!

I am lucky to have a fine gentleman and two minions who are well versed in carrying my things. I don't leave home without them.
