No starbucks, no problem! (I'm not a fan of them either) I am however very familiar with "Kickbutt" as my wife has preformed her comedy routines there a while back. It figures you'd be in NW Austin, I am on the opposite end SE Austin. heh, Murphy never rests. So it would seem all we need now is a time. What days work best for you?

Of your available days, Wednesday afternoon/evening probably, possibly Sunday afternoon, but have church conflicts at times.

Wednesday afternoons/evenings are fine by me. My Sundays are also usually open so I can leave them completely up to you with your service schedules pending. If this evening is too short of a notice then perhaps next week on the fourteenth? The time I can leave to you since I am available pretty much all day.

Hook up with us over on http://community.livejournal.com/seaholm_steam/ as well. We'd love to see ya come out, but I understand the distance. I used to date a girl out in Kerrville, and this was when I was in Dallas! Well, let us know if you can make it any time, we'll keep an eye out.

First off, welcome to all the new folks!
I, unfortunatel, wont be able to make the Wednesday meet-up, as I will be out of state, making my way around the country before Steamcon, but I'd love to hear how it goes! I have other engagements for Halloween as well, but i will most certainly be at the Nov 5th event, and dressed to the nines! I cannot wait to get a good steamy group together. Photos shall be a must!

Hey Austinite here and quite new to the Steampunk thing. I had heard about it for quite a while and saw a few things. However it recently clicked when my wife got really interested in it for Halloween and while looking for proper attire I realized that the clothes I recently had already ordered from an Army Surplus store online actually will work, when put together the right way. Plus the movies and some of the fiction that I like actually is Steampunk themed. I guess it was inherent. Hey everyone.

Well, we had 3 show up last night, hopefully more next time. We had a great time...until I got pulled away my a cooking mishap(My wife and I left the food that was supposed to e cooking...in the freezer! AGHHHHH! We ate quesadillas instead after finding the house had not burned down. Well Hope you all can make it out next time. And we are still looking for a good place for a tinkering/costuming meetup. Oh and so everyone knows(and the ladies aren't scared )We had J.J. Folderol, Arvis, myself and my wife there. Shared some ideas, BS'ed a bit, and enjoyed the time hanging out. Folderol brought a bunch of the stuff he has made or is working on...If you haven't seen his work...you have got to see this stuff. Well, all of you who couldn't make it out this time, lets plan for next time. Though it's not the best spot, lets stay at Kick Butt Coffee and plan for the 28th? 6ish? Let me know if that sounds good.

While it seems mostly insane, there is a place off Parmer and 35 that will let you drink, eat pizza, is all ages, has stacks of board games, and has no problem with large groups coming in and taking over a section for crafting for long periods of time. I was there a while back while a big quilting group was there, and they seemed to fit in perfectly. It is called Planks and it is just north of Parmer on the 35 access road. I don't know if there is one further south. Definitely not as hip as the coffee shop for hanging out, but it seems like a pretty cool venue for craft nights. Not sure how they would feel about heavy machinery. Might have to ask on that one.

Got something saying Kick Butt is too far north. Where do you want to meet? Telling me it's too far without giving ideas is rough. Now I do want to remind you, we have Steamers as far north as Leander(probably further) and south as Buda. So somewhere central is around 290 and 35. We can do this twice a month, once north(Parmer area?) and once south(Riverside area?) but for the most interaction we'll need to do it at just one place twice a month. So give me your Ideas, I'll plot them all on a map and we can go from there. I'm also looking at getting a frapper map for just us in this area to use to help with this.

What about Star Seeds? It is near 290 and 35, and is pretty awesome. Can't craft there, but it is a great hang out.
Of course, The Green Muse always seemed somewhat steampunk to me, but it is in the Riverside/Congress area.
Might be tough to find a place that will be a good hang out and also have space for crafting. Hmm...

I'm ok with wherever, we just need to make sure we all agree(or at least most of us) Lets all post ideas for the next few days, and then figure out from there.
