Miss Holmes, nice photos. I like the picture of all three of you, the interior shot of you and Ablileigh and the shot of you outside with the yellow flora. A suggestion for next month-Who would be up for an Austin Haunted Tour? http://www.hauntedtexas.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=9I've taken the Capitol tour and the Warehouse District one-but haven't done the Servant Girl Annihilator Tour(though I have done some reading on the subject) or the Haunted 6th street crawl-would be an excuse to dress up a bit and since they're conducted at night they wouldn't be unbearably hot. We can finish off the night with conversation at a nearby pub or at the Driskill bar.

Wonderful pictures! I'm still waiting on Luna's, which I will post as soon as I get them. And I would certainly enjoy going on one of the tours linked. June is a little busy for me at the start of the month, but I could probably participate if something we planned for one of the latter weekends

Well, for various reasons that amount to nothing more than excuses to make myself feel better about having missed the outing, the Mistress and I were unable to attend. I tend to rectify this next time however!! I eagerly await news of any other joining of the minds!
Till then, i bid thee all a fondue!

Indeed...the Professor and I were involved in a collision the previous weekend sufficient enough to render my mode of transportation incapable of making the journey. I do apologize. I'm glad that the outing took place despite the weather and I look forward to meeting up soon.
The haunted tour in Austin does sound intriguing tho...and thank you for posting the images!

I've been wanting to do the haunted tours for some time now.(I'm glad I haven't done it yet as now it would be all the more interesting with you folks!) I have ideas of my own in the way of places to go and things to do. Unfortunately they are pretty involved and would probably involve a two day excursion. On the plus side, my schedule is changed and I will be off on Sundays Mondays and Tuesdays. (I will now be able to take off the occasional Saturday for fun and shenanigans)

any word on the tours? If we're going to do them this month, I'll need a date soon, to plan around. I wont be in the state from June 10th-15th, but otherwise, I should be able to make something work.

I'm a bit up "in the air" at the moment. So many things to do and so little cash to do it with. Been looking for things to do that require nothing more than time and effort. And I think I found one good one so far. A good "photo op" that would be cool as hell depending on how many people we could get together. (I'll have to make a side trip to make sure it'll be O.K.) In the mean time, I have to go to southeast Texas tomorrow to see about some personal affairs. I'll swing back through Bueamont and scope out the spindletop museum. It would make an excelent photo shoot. Ever heard of Gladys City? http://www.spindletop.org/

Might be worth it if we arrange carpools or something, otherwise, if cash is an issue (as, well, it can be) the tours in Austin are likely far cheaper than driving out to Beaumont... Thoughts?

Well Beaumont was more of a long range plan, "cheap and easy" is located near Bastrop. As far as carpooling goes my "horseless buckboard" seats five snugly with room in the back for gear.

I was on a "shake down" run on my new(old) motorbike and on my way home I spied an old steam engine. A really BIG old steam engine. Unfortunately I was pressed for time and could not stop to investigate. On the plus side I started my vacation today so I can now make time to do a few things researching locations for fun stuff.(and perhaps start my new wardrobe)

You should totally go check it out, and if it's suitable, we NEED to investigate

Here are some tour date possibilities for the Haunted Texas tours: Saturday June 27th at 6pm for Haunted 6th Street* Sunday July 5th at 6pm for Haunted 6th Street Friday July 17th at 8pm for Servant Girl Annihilator tour the 6th street ones are 21+ Another option for a summer get together is to take a ride on The Bertram Flyer on a weekend day-I'd assume at this point in the year most people would opt for an airconditioned car, so prices on those start at $22 for Adults(3 hour tour from Cedar Park to Bertram and back) info here: http://www.austinsteamtrain.org/

I'm up for anything (though the link crashed my computer, so I really wasn't able to investigate the Flyer). The A/C is always a selling point, however, as a fair amny of us wear an awful lot of clothes

Sorry for the late response-I have 2 suggestions for a July meetup
1. Haunted Texas Servant Girl Annihilator tour-Friday July 17th(tickets are 20 bucks and tour starts at 8pm)
Or...
2. Warehouse District Pub Crawl(assuming participants are of age):Peche(for Absinthe and fin de siecle ambiance), Gingerman(for every beer imaginable), possibly Fado(for gabbing in one of the walled booths and Black and Tan Brownies with Guinness Icecream)
Any thoughts?
Also, there's an Edward Gorey exhibit at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio that's running through September 13th, I plan on taking off from work some Sunday in the next month or so to enjoy it.

Good evening dear people,
Sorry about disappearing there for a couple of weeks. It's been hectic to say the least. I finally got around to investigating the steam engine and as soon as I figure out how to use the photobucket doo-dad-thingamajigger I'll post the pictures.
